Hi everyone, this is Buffy, and I speak for all the employees at Blue Crab Treasures. If you have not see the posts on Facebook already, I'm sorry to have to tell you we lost our beloved Sue today. Although I know she is in a better place and not suffering anymore, it's still so very hard. Sue was such a special lady, would help anyone with anything if she could. Her store was a must stop for me anytime I was in town. She didn't care if you came in and made a purchase, or if you just sat in the rocking chain talked for a bit. She always wanted her store to be someplace where people came in and were happy, happy to see the items she had for sale, and happy to just talk with her.
Sue was one of the first people I met when I started coming back to the island. She made me feel equal, like I beloved there and not an outsider. So many times I would come in just to see how she was doing. I took a chance one day and showed her a picture of my art and asked her if she would put it in her store. Without hesitating she said yes. That's what she did, she made all the artist feel like there work was worth something. Then it came time that I needed a job, Sue hired me on the spot. She taught us so much while we worked there. Not only about the business, but about life. Some days we didn't do any work at all, and just talked. I will hold those memories close to my heart. That's just the angel Sue was, and there will never be another person like her. I feel like she was put on this earth to help people and will continue that from above. I hope she is doing some of things she loved to do, like walking on the beach, and going pony spotting. I also hope she has a Blue Crab Treasures where she is at to run, because that store meant everything to her. Rest In Peace Sue, and please watch over Fred. Some people have asked about sending cards to Fred. If you would like please send to the following address and Evonne will make sure Fred gets them.
