We have installed several of the new Livescope 2 transducers at the shop and will have a fresh batch shipping on Friday if you are looking to get your hands on one!

I spent some time on the water with the LVS42HD and have feedback from customers who are currently running the LVS44. Here is what I am coming up with so far.

LVS42HD
Large footprint
Adjustable Perspective mount allows 0°, 7.5°, 15° and 22.5° settings as well as 0° Forward and Down
Reduced bait viewing distance 35' or less for small baits (1/16oz jigs) further for larger baits
Perspective is quite clean in shallow water
Baits and small fish show up as very small marks
Fish stick out incredibly well and are quite detailed
Wood appears less dense than the LVS34
Not a sole replacement to the LVS34 imo best in combination with the 34 or 44

LVS44
Slightly Larger footprint
Adjustable Perspective mount allows 0°, 7.5°, 15° and 22.5° settings as well as 0° Forward and Down
See baits out or down to 100' but not much deeper than that
Sorry Lake Trout Guys not a replacement to the 62
Reports of trolled salmon baits back 150 but havent put to the test yet
Bait returns appear about equal to LVS34 size
If you are choosing one transducer go with the 44 especially if you prefer longer casts and watching your bait on screen.

The Kraken install is quite simple and now two transducers will easily fit in the shaft with the smaller connector! It uses the same Kraken bracket as the other transducers and you simply apply a new selector disc to it.

Our Big Fish Dual Livescope bracket for Kraken trolling motors will have mounts to match shortly if you are interested in the best of both worlds on yours!

The top question we are answering at the shop right now is which of the new Livescope transducers should I get? The close range high detail LVS42HD or the longer range LVS44?

The videos have started to pop up on social media and that will help decide but sometimes its best just to see it in person. We now offer the new Livescope transducers in our rental fleet for you to try before you buy!

We have an LVS42HD and LVS34 Combo if you want to see the differences between new and old or we have an LVS42HD and LVS44 Combo if you want to decide which of the new transducers is best for you!

They are both paired with a quality GPSmap 8610 on an Arc Lab deluxe shuttle powered by a 50ah Norsk Lithium for all day power. Poles are available if needed just reach out to reserve your day(s).

As for the transducer availability we have already shipped out two batches and expect another round of them tomorrow. The LVS42HD-IF should be available on the 7th of August finally if you want to reserve yours!

You can tell when the K/D Salmon Tournament and Salmon-a-Rama are on the horizon, we get an influx of big water boats and this Grady White with twins was no exception.

They wanted Hydraulic autopilot before the big dance and we installed a Reactor 40 Smartpump with time to spare! The Big Fish team is headed over soon ourselves, if you need any equipment to make your week a success let me know before I go!

Did you know the serial numbers on all your expensive electronics are important and should be kept in your records? Those alpha numeric tags may just save you a little heartache while also helping to deliver justice to the worlds thieves!

At the end of winter I was notified one of the Arc Lab bundles we built 2 years ago was stolen from a customer in Montana. They were wondering if it could be tracked and if we had a receipt to help with an insurance replacement.

Not only did we have the receipt showing their investment to help with a replacement, we had the Serial Numbers of the products that were stolen on file. We have them for almost every piece of electronics we have sold, if you have ever been in this position you know where I am going with this.

The waiting game began... thieves dont usually steal for the item itself they steal for the money those items will provide. They watched marketplace and other sales platforms in the area and sure enough last week he messaged me that they think they found his bundle listed on Marketplace.

We talked through the possibilities that it may be an actual person legit selling their unit but that we would have a record that matched the sellers name. Our communication and sales records are quite strong and there was no trail of bread crumbs leading to that person over the last 5 years.

He arranged a meeting to "Buy" the bundle at which point they confirmed the numbers matched and the police were able to arrest the person selling the Livescope, who by the sounds of it rolled over on his buddy quite quickly as the saying goes there is "no honor among theives" Justice will hopefully be served and the recovered items will be returned to the owner after the investigation is complete.

We will never be as cheap as the Big Box stores but we WILL bend over backwards for our customers long after the sale is over!

Summer kicks off in just a few days, are you ready for it? It's a good idea to check those batteries, bilges and lights before venturing off to the landing! Does your horn work? A mirror is also a good idea if towing a person(s), are your ropes and winch in good shape? How about that throwable cushion and life jackets, they need to be tear free, fit nicely and match every person on the boat!

The trailer needs a peak as well, jack each wheel up, grab the tire top to bottom and physically rock it, there should only be bit of play, spin it, there should not be any noises, growling or scraping. Speaking of tire, how does it look, is the tread even and plentiful, is there weather checking or unusual wear patterns? Are they aired up properly?

If you are unsure on any of these we would love to help! Does your boat need an update in technology instead, not a problem as thats our specialty. If you fish or bost at night I highly reccommend investing in a Night vision camera, even docking and loading the boat is considerably safer when you can see, add to it that it works in the daytime for tubing activities and collision avoidance!

It's the small details that make for a quality install! Just about every boat we setup we add a spray shield and the Si Ducer in the same position as if we were mounting all 3 transducers.

This works two fold, we are able to get the first transducer as far from the prop as possible while also leaving room on the port side of the board in case you decide to add the high speed transducer down the road.

If you grow tired of trimming the motor to see the left side we can now mount a board and left Side Imaging transducer to match the starboard side all while maintaining the symmetry on your transom!
