Fun in the garden: Making Basil Salt! 🌱

I was graciously sent a copy of a new book that’s hit the market called ‘How to Grow Medicinal Herbs’ by Vanessa Minton of From the Garden.

In this book, she goes over 50 medicinal herbs to grow and includes recipes too such as the basil salt! I have been growing basil for years. WHY have I never done this?! It was so easy and fun. I’ll leave a link to the new book in the comments!

Harvested 108 heads of garlic last week! I’ve decided garlic has to be one of the easiest crops to grow. I plant cloves in November and cover the bed with straw for the winter. Other than weeding a few times through the Spring, I don’t touch it! I let it cure in my greenhouse for a couple of weeks (with fans on it!). I also take some of the softneck garlic and make floral garlic braids! I save a few of my biggest heads of garlic to replant in the fall. Once you buy garlic and learn how to cure it to replant, you don’t have to buy that variety again!
🧄 Now is the time to start thinking about ordering garlic for fall delivery. I’ve discovered garlic varieties tend to sell out closer to fall because it’s often sold as a pre-order. I’ll leave a link below to where you can find some. 🧄

It’s kinda wild the difference pinching (most) celosia makes in terms of how many stems you get!
