In _Under Way_ (1963), she constructed new concepts after seeing ancient Peruvian textiles, and constructed this vibrant, tactile abstract script directly on the loom.

The largest Native American fair in the USA, the Navajo Nation Fair, is happening and I was vending at the Navajo Nation Museum's arts & crafts market.

I had fun educating Navajos of our beautiful and empowering Navajo weaving ways. Miss Navajo Arts & Crafts, Nevaeh Yazzie, blessed me with a photo.

Thank goodness for my nephew getting me Nashjizhii and frybread. I didn't eat anything all day. Lol...

Join co-curator Marlon Magdalena, at noon August 22 for a tour of "Makowa: The Worlds Above Us". Occurring once a month for the duration of the exhibition.

Look up. What do you see? From radio astronomy to solstice calendars, Indigenous peoples look to the sky for timing, meaning, and beauty. Makowa: The worlds above us juxtaposes ways of seeing, noticing, and understanding the skies and the beings in them. Told through stories of an ever-changing world, the exhibition connects science, stories, and observations. For Indigenous peoples of the Southwest, observing the sky brings joy, information, and a connection to the worlds above us.
