Awesome Opossum Crystals

Awesome Opossum Crystals I’m Tamithyst, a crystal critter, digging shiny things from the dirt with my partner in grime (the muscle behind my chaos). Stay Awesome, Opossum! ✨🐾 Haha!

I share my treasure, if you can pry ‘em from my paws. Self-collected treasures & worldwide specimens. Enter the curious world of Sully's Crystal Cabinet!!! As a purveyor of crystals, curiosities, and more, SULLY offers items for a spell... Never fear, nary a nook be left barren, Sully's quest for new curiosities is underway. SULLY is a mysterious being, neither animal nor man, genderless and nature-loving. They adore the earth and its every treasure, living in wild places, often far in the woods. A traveler too, Sully has an eye for shiny rare collectibles CURIOSITIES CRYSTALS and treasures, but SULLY'S CABINET can contain only so many! To finance their journeys and trade for new finds, they must reluctantly part with some of their precious items. Where did SULLY come from? It's a childhood moniker that stuck like pungent cheese—which is amusing because the entire moniker was "Stinky Sullivan" from an old TV show. My dear brother bestowed this upon me, and I despised the title, so he got a scolding. Later, he changed it to "Sully" and I didn't find out until I was an adult that it was the same name! Why did I create SULLY'S CABINET? Amidst the grief and sorrow caused by the loss of my father to COVID, I found myself suddenly and irrevocably bereft. I would smile, finding temporary respite, but the joyous moments were short-lived. This sorrow intensified with the tragic death of our beloved pet, a loyal companion who had been our family's steadfast friend through thick and thin. My husband and I were talking about life one day, realizing that we had a shared passion for special rocks, fossils, and crystals! It was a tradition passed down from my dad (my whole family really, generations as well as my husband's family), and it was a no-brainer that we should make it our business venture. For the first time since losing my dad, in my life really, I found a fire that makes me feel so alive. While I'm crying while writing this out, I am also happy. I know my dad is happy too, and without him and the loving support of my husband, I wouldn't be doing this. It's a way to honor and remember him, and all of the ones we've lost. Crystals helps light a spark of joy in the midst of our grief. Lighten the darkness any way you can!

What have you done today?

Feral me? It’s time for forbidden crystal soup and feral rock goblin activities. 🪨🐾

After a 50 hour work week (at my mandatory muggle job) This busy little opossum survived driving school with our teen (we all lived), conquered the grocery store, treasure hunting at Goodwill, made it to a doctor appointment, and somehow made it back home by 2 PM.

These grubby little treasures are getting the full Awesome Opossum spa treatment:
* Soak & scrub in soapy water
* Acid bath (don’t worry, they like it better than I would!)
* Neutralizing bath
* A good rinse
* One final scrub for maximum dazzle-dazzle

People see the shiny crystals on the table, but they don’t always see the muddy paws, sore backs, and crystal glow-ups that happen behind the scenes. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Around here we’re just two weird little opossums collecting shiny things and yelling, “LOOK WHAT I DUG!” every chance we get.

No trash, only treasure. I dug that. ✨
