We are reaching the time of year where we can start to see signs of the summer braiding into Fall with these cooler crisp mornings. Summer crops like flowers and tomatoes are still coming out of the fields and the height of summer colors surrounds us, we are taking small steps to prepare for the next season and enjoying cooler crisp mornings. We are bustling at the seams growing fall ornamental flowers and vegetable starts for the next season all while harvesting summer crops, sowing seeds and drying herbs and flowers.

Stop in and see the seasons coming together and let us help you soak up the rest of the summer colors while we have them with a FREE potted plant or hanging basket from our summer flora line with purchase to enjoy. The “Hummingbirds of Ohio and the World” workshop is tonight, Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wildwood Flora Greenhouses and Flower Farm located at 9791 Winton Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. Tim Coats from Wild Birds Unlimited, Inc. Wild Birds Unlimited will lead an in-depth talk on hummingbirds and how to attract them, with feeder maintenance and trivia and prizes. Fun for the whole family!

Seasonal local produce is abundant this time of year so we are running a special on bio-dynamically grown tomatoes $3/pound from our neighbors at Rose Hill Farm Rosehill Farm. If you haven’t tried biodynamic grown produce this is a good opportunity to try the BEST tasting tomatoes you’ve ever had.

Seriously, biodynamic farming systems go beyond organic, instead of just avoiding chemicals, it uses natural composting, integrates farm animals, promotes biodiversity, and planting and harvesting cycles aline with lunar and cosmic rhythms like the old almanac.

Reminder that our Hummingbird workshop series is coming up this week! Many hummingbirds have been visiting the shop lately for all the nectar plants. We were able to get a close up shot of this hummingbird at the end of the video as it flew up close to the camera. It seems it was thanking us for all the nectar plants and upcoming workshops. 🥰 Hope you enjoy the video and we would also love to see any hummingbird photos or footage you may have to share here.

Workshops:
-Thursday August 13th 6pm-7pm: join Julie from the Civic Garden Center (CGC) for practical ways you can attract more hummingbirds and pollinators to your yard. Learn what plants they love and how to grow them.

-Thursday August 13th 7:15pm-8pm Firehouse Nursery Firehouse Nursery will be present to talk about their work with the Cincinnati zoos program planting for pollinator and what plants you can plant today to help pollinators!

-Saturday August 15th 6pm-7pm join Tim from Wild Birds Unlimited Cincy for an in depth discussion on the hummingbird species itself. Tim is a birding expert and will also be sharing tips on hummingbird feeder maintenance and so many years of expertise in his field.

Also a reminder that any purchase of nectar plants for the hummingbirds helps local non profits in their volunteer efforts to maintain pollinator and hummingbird gardens in our area. Thanks in advance and we are looking forward to seeing everyone. Please carpool if you can.

While we have made the decision to take a break this season from farmers markets to settle into our new and permanent farm. While we plan to return to Farmers market in the future we don’t want to miss seeing everyone. We are excited to welcome you to visit and take a tour of our new farm location and see all the flower fields in bloom and familiar faces.

We have proudly participated in our local farmers market for the past 12 years, bringing you seasonal flora for your home and heart while building a strong, vibrant community together. While we will miss this routine, it’s important we build and organize our new farm location for the future. Come help us warm the space and share in the joy of our new beginning. We are located at 9791 Winton Road 45231 and open 9am-5pm 7 days a week.

Our Hummingbird fundraiser is live, now through August 15th! We have been seeing more hummingbirds around lately as they start preparing for migration over these next couple months. Now is a great time to put out more nectar sources to help them along there way. We have a wide selection of nectar rich annuals and perennials hummingbirds LOVE!

With each sale of hummingbird plants we are creating more habitats for hummingbirds together and also supporting our favorite non profit Civic Garden Center (CGC) 15% of each sale goes to support habitats in Hamilton County further extend extending food sources for hummingbirds.

This is also part of our Hummingbirds workshop series. Be sure to join us on August 13th 6pm-7pm to learn more the plants that hummingbirds love and what you can do in your own garden with Julie from the Civic Garden Center. We will also be joined with Tim from Wild Birds Unlimited August, 15th from 6pm-7pm for a in depth discussion of the hummingbird species itself and to learn ways to maintain your hummingbird feeders.
