New arrivals to the store. I usually don’t post that much about new arrivals but these two really stood out for me.

g3 Merlot, Columbia Valley WA: Merlot got a bad rap from the move Sideways but you need to try this bargain gem that’s loaded with soft red fruit notes thru out, soft tannins and great with almost anything. It will be featured next Friday Sept 4th. Rtl. $14.99

Les Chausmes Montpeyroux-Languedoc FR. A blend of 50% Grenache, 30 Carignan and 20 Syrah. (Chateauneuf knock off almost) full of dark fruit and earth notes with noticeable tannins that are polished enough to drink now or in 5 years. Limited quantities of this close out wine, was $59.99 our price $39.99.

Don’t forget about “ORPHAN WINE” Saturdays from 4-7 you can@purchase a 6oz glass of any of our open btls from the wine bar for $5. Think ANY other wine bar in all of Cincy is doing that I think not. Pregame here on Saturday before dinner or the party.

Saturday means “Orphan Wine Day” what is it, it’s our way of thanking all of our customers with some bargain priced wines to start your Saturday evening. All bottles that are open from last night need to be sold so you can get a 6oz glass of any of the opened bottles for just $5. I’ll say it again $5 for a 6oz glass of any of the opened bottles while they last it runs from 4-7 today. Great way to start your evening especially if you’re going to FUNFEST at St Mary’s in Hyde Park. Get a group and head on down the patio awaits.

Tonight’s “FRIDAY FLIGHT” line up. 4 wines, 3oz pour of each only $20 now that’s a deal, or should I say a steal. In these times of economic flip flop I want to give my customers a break and a deal so that’s what the FRIDAY FLIGHT is all about. Sure I’m trying to make a living but not a killing so take advantage of this great deal tonight.
Tomorrow evening I will be closing early for a private party I’m sorry there won’t be an “Orphan Wine” event but it will be back next Saturday. What is “Orphan Wine” it’s our open bottles from the wine bar that have been open and I need to sell off because we aren’t open Sunday-Tuesday. How does it work? Starting at 4pm you can order any wine off the list get a 6oz pour for $5, yes that’s right not a typo $5 for a glass of wine, no new bottles will be opened and when the wine is gone it’s gone. Check it out next Saturday 4-7. Think any other restaurant/wine bar in town is doing this I DON’T THINK SO.

Wine bar is open today and at 4 o’clock today I will be starting an “Orphan Wine” by the glass program. What is that you say, well from 4-7 any open bottle on the wine bar you will be able to purchase a 6oz glass for just $5 until the bottle is gone. I won’t be opening any new bottles off the list after 4 but a great way to start Saturday evening. Stop in and help me finish off any of the open bottles. 6oz glass for $5 now that’s crazy.

FRIDAY NIGHT FLIGHT, my theme tonight is Spain, stop in and explore the tasty world of Spanish wines with us and Ian Prickel from Cutting Edge Selections. Four styles, four regions , four different grapes all tasty in their own right. Cost is $20 for a 3oz taste of each. Refridge just got restocked today with plenty of goodies so get a group together and stop in. O when does it start when the first person walks thru the door and the doors are open now.

FRIDAY FLIGHT, my line up for tonight,
Stop in and enjoy 4 3oz tastes of these delicious wines for $20, the wines are from France, Spain, Italy and the US. Kate Johnson from Southern Glazer will explain them and give you behind the scenes info on each.

Also it is Kyle’s last shift before he takes off for Oregon so stop in and wish him and Danielle a great trip. HE WILL BE MISSED.

Out with the old in with the new. Our new wines on the list drops tonight stop in and try 4 of the new wines for $20. That’s 4 3oz pours $20, runs till 9 tonight.

Friday nights wine line up. Great opportunity to learn about wines that are not mainstream but very tasty. That’s the beauty of a “wine tasting” trying new wines without putting a large amount of money to try them. If you bought the four wines it would cost you close to $75 but this tasting is the four wines for $20. No reservation needed just show up, tasting goes from 5-8pm.
Since it’s going to be chilly I’m going to run an “UGLY SWEATER” contest the winner will win a bottle of the featured wines, your choice.
On Sunday for the PIG we will open at 6:30am to cheer on the runners we will be making PIG CHEER, think Mimosa, Prosecco, Negroni and other sparkling wine drinks. Stop by Friday or Sunday.
