Have your eye on a book? 👀 Buy it this Wednesday at 4-7pm!

Tomorrow, Downbound Books will be donating their profits to the Northside Farmers Market Emergency Food Access Fund during market hours. Downbound features expertly curated collections on gardening, the joys of nature, environmental justice, cooking, mental health and so much more. They have an excellent children's book selection as well! We are so grateful to have Downbound as a partner in expanding food access for those who need it most. Just another reason they should be your favorite book store!

If you'd like to make a donation today to the Emergency Food Access Fund, find the link in our bio. ✨

At Downbound we describe ourselves as a politically-committed bookstore. To us, that means that the politics part should come before the store part, and that doing what feels right is our bottom line. It feels right to be closed tomorrow, January 30th, in solidarity with the calls from Minnesota for a nationwide strike.

Last week we sent a check for $2,100, representing the hundreds of fundraiser stickers you all purchased, a match of those funds from friends of the shop, and a match from us at Downbound as well. Thank you again to for the sticker artwork and to for donating the printing.

This donation brings the amount you’ve helped us contribute to CAIN over the past two months to nearly $6,000. While the actions of our officials and the ways they generate suffering routinely leave us both crestfallen and furious, we are heartened to be rooted here amongst people who continue to prioritize community care in this world while reading and thinking and working towards the next. Thank you.
