We came for the tea. We stayed for the laughter, the stories… and the bravery it took to try mooncake with salted egg yolk. 😂🥮🫖

Today’s Pu-erh & Oolong Tea Class was exactly what we hope a Churchill’s tea experience can be.

We laughed while getting to know each other. We traveled through centuries of Chinese tea history. We got a little nerdy comparing purist oolongs and pu-erhs—and cheered on someone whose tea experience before today was pretty much… a Lipton tea bag. ❤️

And yes, we introduced everyone to mooncake with salted egg yolk. Some approached it with curiosity. Some with courage. 😂

But that’s the fun of gathering around a tea table: you don’t have to know anything about tea to belong there. You just have to be curious enough to taste, learn, laugh, and experience something new together.

So much tea. So much learning. So much laughter. And by the end, a table full of people who knew each other a little better than when they arrived.

We wouldn’t choose to celebrate the upcoming Moon Festival any other way. 🌕🥮

You weren’t simply asking us to bring back 25 teas.
You were asking us to bring back 25 days you shared with someone. 💜

We didn’t fully understand that until we announced last fall that our existing Advent Calendar format would be discontinued in 2026.

Then you responded to the announcement and started telling us your stories.

A mother and daughter living in different cities, each opening the same tea every day.

Friends scattered across the country, brewing the day’s tea together—then gathering in a group chat to compare notes, rate it, and debate their favorites.

Couples and families who had made those 25 little tea moments part of December year after year.

We thought we were saying goodbye to on type of gift sets for the holiday season.

You showed us that it had become a tradition—a reason to make time for someone you love, even when you couldn’t be together.

That touched us deeply and changed our thinking.

So we went back to the drawing board and found a way to bring Advent back for 2026—reimagined for our small team, but inspired by what mattered most to you.

And that’s where this year’s name came from:

25-Day Tea Advent Calendar:
25 Days of Moments Together.

Because Churchill's tea community taught us this: the most meaningful part of Advent was never just discovering what tea was behind the next number.

It was having someone to share the discovery with.

Over the next several weeks, we’ll show you what we’ve reimagined.

Happy Labor Day everyone! Today, our team is taking a day of tea break at both shops, and I am thinking about the people behind every cup. ❤️

Behind Churchill’s is a team of people who show up every day—steeping samples, filling tins, packing online orders, welcoming customers, teaching about tea, preparing for events, solving the unexpected, and doing a hundred little things most people never see.

Running a small business takes a lot of hands, a lot of care, and a lot of heart. I am incredibly grateful for the people who choose to bring theirs to Churchill’s.

Thank you to our team—past and present—for the time, energy, ideas, patience, laughter, and hard work you’ve shared with us and with our community.

And thank you to everyone who walks through our doors and supports a local business. Your support helps create meaningful local jobs and gives this wonderful team a place to grow, learn, and share their love of tea.

This Labor Day, we raise our cups to our team. 🫖❤️

September showed up. The summer heat decided to stay. 😂☀️

So maybe Labor Day weekend is less about saying goodbye to summer and more about finding a cold drink, a shady spot, and some good people to cool down with.

And apparently, this Dead Low customer has already figured out what to order. 😂🍺🫖

We’ve had so much fun seeing Churchill’s Hard Tea out in the wild these past two weeks—and even more fun hearing what people think of this little Churchill’s × Dead Low creation.

Here’s to a long weekend, cold drinks, good conversations, and gathering around the table with people you like.

Stay cool, Cincinnati. September is clearly not ready for sweaters yet. 😅

After our recent journey into the culture and traditions of Yerba Mate, we’re traveling again—this time into the extraordinary world of Chinese tea. 🇨🇳

On September 12, join us at Churchill’s for an exploration of Pu-erh and Oolong teas: how they’re made, how they’re enjoyed, the traditions behind them, and why these teas hold such a special place in Chinese culture.

And with the Moon Festival approaching, there couldn’t be a better time to gather around the tea table, taste something new, and discover just how much history and culture can live inside one cup.

We said goodbye last year. But apparently, you weren’t ready to let it go. Neither were we. ❤️

When we announced that our existing Advent Tea Calendar format would be discontinued, we knew the old format had simply become too demanding for our small team.

What we didn’t know was how many of you had made it part of your December traditions.

You told us. We listened. And we went back to the drawing board.

So…...the Churchill’s Tea Advent Calendar is returning for 2026. 🎄🫖

But not quite as you remember it.

This year, we’ve reimagined the experience around something we think matters even more than opening a little door each day: the moments we create around the cup.

🎬 There are stories you go to the movies to watch. And then there are stories you get to watch happen in real life.

Tomorrow, the lights come back on at Mariemont Theatre—and this is one story the Churchill’s team and I have been rooting for from the beginning.

We had the privilege of being involved with the theater before it closed. When the doors shut earlier this year, it was hard to imagine that a neighborhood theater showing movies since 1938 might actually go dark for good.

But my friends Jack and Allyson weren’t ready to give up.

Neither was Cincinnati.

Bringing the theater back meant much more than unlocking the doors. Equipment was gone. Seats needed work. An 88-year-old theater had to be rebuilt for its next chapter.

Then the community showed how much this place mattered.

People donated, volunteered and stepped forward. More than $1 million was raised, and Jack, Allyson and an incredible team turned that support into something we get to celebrate tomorrow:

Mariemont Theatre is showing movies again. ❤️

The doors will open. The lights will dim. The popcorn will pop. And stories will fill those screens again.

And Churchill’s gets to quietly join this next chapter, too. 🫖

Starting tomorrow, Churchill’s Fine Teas will be served iced at Mariemont Theatre—English Breakfast for the morning, Decaf Peach Apricot for the afternoon, and Cincinnati Spice Rooibos as the day winds down.

There is something wonderfully full-circle about that for me. We were part of this theater community before the doors closed, rooted for our friends throughout this remarkable journey, and tomorrow, we’ll be there in a small way as Cincinnati returns.

Here’s to Jack, Allyson, their remarkable team, everyone who believed this place was worth saving—and all the stories still waiting to be told.

Welcome back, Mariemont Theatre. ❤️🎬

The lights are coming back on.
The popcorn is popping.
And the tea is steeping.
