March is Woman’s History Month in the United States.

March 8th is International Woman’s Day.

International Woman’s History has been around since 1909. This is a time when woman come together and celebrate all the woman who stood up, showed up and smashed barriers for themselves and others.

I opened my woman owned business 25 years ago. Nest has grown to be a business that supports woman designers and business owners. I’m very proud of this legacy.

You may have heard that Nest has closed its Brick and Mortar Hyde Park location. The building had been sold to a local developer and I’ve been told they intend to tear the building down to gain access to the proposed development site.

What next?
I just don’t know right now.
I appreciate your patience as I take this time to discover what my “next” thing is.
There are brands I love and want to share with you. I love our greater Cincinnati community. These are a few things I can put my finger on.

On this International Woman’s Day get out and support a woman owned business, buy a woman owned brand and cheer on your favorite female athlete, actor or any barrier braking woman you admire!

I Miss You.

It’s been a minute….

What’s Next?

Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn.

If you are late to this party it’s ok.

Let’s get caught up.
My name is Heather and I made a career of helping people gift better.
After 25 years, Nest closed its Hyde Park location.
Why you ask?
Simply put, the building Nest rented for the last 14 years was sold to a real estate developer. The property is said to be torn down to access the proposed development from Michigan Ave.
Bad Luck?
Maybe.
To be clear, my business was great! For the last four years Nest has survived and thrived. I was really getting good at this!
So whats next?
I don’t know yet but I’m taking my time to explore what I might like my life to look like.
For now, it will be emails and Instagram that I share with all of you.
Please stay tuned. There is definitely more to come.

Up until this point I wasn’t loving this statement. I don’t know, maybe it’s true.

Maybe I can trust that this is exactly where I am supposed to be.

January 28th my husband John
had a bad fall.
(Don’t text and walk down stairs!)

First a trip to the ER, then the next day we went Beacon Orthopedic. Friday, Nest was cleared out by a team of movers. Monday morning we were at a surgery center getting Johns damaged quad tendon and a shattered kneecap fixed up. He’s non weight bearing and in a leg brace. We are looking at several months of recovery.

John continues to be optimistic. He forges onward with a positive outlook at each turn.

Suddenly I went from shutting down
my business of 25 years to caring
for my husband.

The upside is that I could be there for John 100%!
This has been an unbelievable gift.
The gift of time.
The gift of love.

These Are The Final Days To Shop

At Nest.

After 25 years of gifting better I am closing my Hyde Park store. The building Nest has rented has been sold to a developer.

I’m not sure what my next chapter will be. I plan to step back for now.

I love my customers and will miss seeing your faces.
I was shocked to learn that I have served 2,934.customers last year. Thats a lot of faces!
I never realized how far reaching my efforts had grown to be. Your outpouring of kindness and support has been overwhelming. My heart is full.
