History of the Fawn Candy:
When Paul "Pep" Guenther returned home to Cincinnati from World War II, he had no idea how to make candy, but decided to join his inlaws in the business. In 1946, he bought an ice cream parlor on Harrison Avenue in Cheviot named the Fawn Fountain. He had always planned to add candies to his shelves, and as he observed a local candy maker for several weeks, Pep began maki

ng candies of his own. By 1970, Guenther and his wife, Jean, concentrated on candies, moving their candy kitchen to its current location 4271 Harrison Avenue. Then, in 1984, the couple passed down their business to their four daughters: Kathy, Jackie, Jane and Jean. In 1994, the daughters ventured to the east side, opening another retail store in the Clocktower in Norwood's Rookwood Commons. And now in 2016, Jean, Kathy, Jackie and their children make and serve the same candy their Father and Mother did, dating back 70 years.
