Make the miles mean something! The (virtual) Pig is coming to a self-prepared, socially-distanced route near you May 1 - 3. In light of that, I thought we could tweak the existing design under these very special circumstances.
Super helpful tips and FAQs over on the site. In the meantime, keep jamming out there. Can’t wait to see how we embrace this and make it a blast... in the safest way possible.

They rarely come prettier. Mornings like this may not be the norm in southern Ohio which might be why they’re so treasured. Now that our “norm” has been turned on its head, I’m hoping to appreciate all I took for granted a whole lot more.

Thanks for the idea !!
Sums up this spring well, right? I’ll be running from home full time and only venturing to trails or parks early early in the morning. Stay safe, . We do this now and we’ve got a fall season of PRs waiting on us.

Minus Torrence, of course. I have to say that I might’ve maybe missed it... a little. Just a little though. 😉
I don’t think I was the only one out there running their own version of the race, but a head nod from either side of the path sufficed. Congratulations to everyone that competed in their own way. Make the miles mean something.

Doing our part... runners always do. It blows me away how community-minded runners are. Not saying we’re the only ones that are or even that we are the most but that it doesn’t take much prodding for us to rally around what needs to be done. I personally thinks it speaks to the diversity amongst our ranks. All walks of life fill those shoes and pound pavement. Maybe I shouldn’t be so surprised but I’ll still be proud.

New arrivals! I’ve been running in for many many moons (14 years!). This is my ✌🏻 pair of the adios. My ☝🏻ever pair of “hurt your eyes” neon shoes. I had to take them for a spin even if was just the TM. Will head to the track later in the week with them. For now, I’m beyond fortunate to be able to hunker down for the next few weeks (probably more), run close to home and let those that need to get a hold of the numbers do so in order to keep everyone safe.

No, no, no. We all know it’s about the journey, right? The early morning meetups, the exploration of streets you thought you knew... the waves, nods and “good mornings” directed at others on their own journeys.
I’m a forgetful person. Being mindful is something I often forget. But because of that, it’s also somewhat overwhelming to be reminded of it on the daily... like, “Hey, look around! It’s all the beautiful part!”.

If you’ve got a great story to share and don’t mind the tag, send me your best shot and I’ll post it and give the props you deserve. In this case, it’s .2 that gets the credit for this shot. And it’s a little dated so it’s only grown from this. Next on her list is in May.

🌞 🌊 is this weekend!! Good luck and safe travels to anyone participating. Another bucket list race. I’m going to have to start checking some boxes because the list is getting unwieldy.

As I get older, the number one indicator of whether a run will go well or not is sleep. If I have a bad night’s sleep, I’ll skip a workout just so I don’t double down on the exhaustion. I wish I could heed my own advice all the time. Tried to fit in a long run Friday after a string of poor sleeping and spent that night feeling like I had the flu. Never worth it... at least for me. Although, the trail was nice and quiet.
As for the quote, the Dalai Lama said that so it must be true. Rest first. Run second.

Some days are... well... just harder than others. But like a (my) blown workout, it’s oftentimes the culmination of several preceding smaller events being just a little off versus the blame falling squarely on the workout’s shoulders.

A Long Time Running

Thousands of miles. So many shoes. Hundreds of finish lines.

All this wouldn't have been possible without me stepping up to a starting line on a warm May morning in 2004. That day, I ran my first half marathon with two of my closest friends. When I crossed the finish line one hour and fifty-seven minutes later, I had no idea that my journey had just begun. And more than wanting to share my own journey, my wish is to understand everyone else's journey. If there's one thing I like more than running, it's talking to runners about running.

As a designer, I'm constantly reacting to not only the aesthetic nature of objects but also the system in which they live. While I loved the simplicity in the trend that has given us the "26.2" sticker, the runner in me longed for more of the story.
