The power of the ask is real!

We were able to hit a few yard sales over the weekend and, as always, we were hunting for games.

Towards the end of the neighborhood, the power of the ask finally paid off and a nice woman brought this CIB Sega Genesis out for us!

Excited to add this guy to the personal collection. Good luck out there!

Dang, it’s been a minute since we’ve made an update on here. 😅

We’ve had some pretty steady sales over the month of July, and actually just passed our gross sales from last year for the month.

Here are a few, but definitely not all, of the items we’ve sent out recently.

Happy Thursday! We’ve been a little quiet on here recently, but the orders continue to go out!

We are shipping out 16 orders today, all eBay, with a sale price ranging from $2 to $150. 😳

We like to sell a variety of items and different price points. Do you do the same, or do you try to only sell higher priced items?

We go to a lot of yard sales, and we almost always ask for Pokemon cards.

Here is the reality, we also end up looking at a lot of bulk cards, just like these.

That being said, we are always appreciative when someone is willing to show us anything.
.and hey, we at least found a few vintage cards in this lot. 😊

A.I. is taking over the yard sales! 😂

We’ve seen a lot of eBay printouts over the years, but this was our first time seeing an A.I. comp.

We know that yard sale pricing can be controversial to some. At the end of the day though, it’s their stuff and they can price it however they see fit.

That being said, it’s was interesting to see the use of A.I. here and what it came up with.

Have you begun to see anything like this while you’ve been out sourcing?

This little stereo was a nice sleeper find at $20.

It was definitely “garage fresh” and will need some cleaning, but these can have good value.

Is this something you would have picked or passed on if you found it while sourcing?

We’ve found a lot of video game items over the years, but this was a first for us.

It is an adaptive controller setup for Xbox that allows people who are unable to use a traditional controller to play games.

The user is able to set up in different ways based on their needs, which is really cool.

It was awesome to hear how the seller used it to play games and was ready to pass it on to someone new!

We found Super Nintendo games at our very first yard sale of the day while sourcing.

Unfortunately, the prices were a bit high for us and we didn’t need any of them for our own collection.

It was still cool to find them though.

We are always asking about certain items when sourcing, and video games are definitely one of them. If you’ve done this enough, you know it’s all a numbers game.

While we get told no a lot, we are always happy to leave our contact info just in case. Every once in a while, someone actually reaches out. This is what happened with this small lot…. an entire year later!

We were happy to hear from the seller, and even happier to strike a deal with them. They mentioned they decided to reach out to us because of the conversation we had a year earlier.

It just goes to show, it pays to be nice and respectful when our sourcing!

What’s the longest someone has taken to reach out to you about a lead?

There is nothing worse than getting pumped up for a big city wide sale, and then almost getting rained out.

Luckily, we were able to stick it out and still find some cool items along the way.
