Behind every foster family that lasts is a community that showed up.

That is the whole idea behind Raleigh's Place Partner Homes. Licensed foster homes, adoptive parents, and relative placement families in our area can lean on us for the practical things nobody warns you about.

What partnering looks like:

▪️Weekly food boxes at no cost
▪️Clothing and household items as needs come up
▪️Birthday and holiday surprises so no kid gets overlooked
▪️A Foster Parent Night Out every quarter, plus parenting classes that count toward DHR continuing education credits

Most people in Chilton County have never heard this program exists. Foster parents burn out feeling unsupported, and that is preventable.

As of September 22, there are exactly 100 days left in 2026 — 100 more days to make a difference for foster children and families across Chilton County and beyond. At Raleigh’s Place, every day is an opportunity to live out our mission of supporting vulnerable kids through Christ-centered care.

As we move into the final stretch of the year, here are a few meaningful ways you can help us finish 2026 strong:

• Make a year-end gift to support programs like Camp 1:27, the Partner Homes program, Katie’s Kloset, and the Workmanship Initiative. Your generosity helps us continue providing resources, mentorship, and transitional living for foster youth.

We’re looking for the next leader of Camp 1:27.

Raleigh’s Place is hiring a year-round Camp Coordinator to help lead Camp 1:27 into its next season of ministry.

We’re looking for someone who loves Christ, can lead and develop people, enjoys recruiting and building relationships, and is ready to take ownership of a ministry serving children impacted by foster care.

One week at Camp 1:27 can rearrange how a kid sees themselves.

15 summers in, we have hosted more than 1,000 children from across Alabama: kids in foster care, kids in relative placement, kids who have been adopted. Every single one comes at no charge.

What a week holds:

▪️Two pools, Gaga ball, archery, arts and crafts, and hiking trails through the woods
▪️Cabins, a fire pit, and an amphitheater where the whole camp gathers
▪️Bible study during the day and chapel every night
▪️Adults who learn a camper's name on day one and still remember it years later

The stories we tell later are usually the small ones. A camper who said "absolutely not" on Monday trying it anyway on Thursday, with someone cheering from ten feet away.

September is National Kinship Care Month and somewhere in Chilton County, a grandmother is packing a lunchbox she did not expect to be packing at this stage of life. An aunt is learning a middle schooler's class schedule. A longtime friend of the family is figuring out how to fit a car seat into a two-door sedan.

Kinship caregivers say yes to a phone call nobody plans for. They keep children connected to the people, the neighborhood, and the last name they already know.

Research keeps confirming what these households live out every day: staying with kin softens the disruption.

They rarely get a banner or a nomination. So consider this the banner.
