We got all of the vintage swag lamps cleaned and working!

There are 6 total. I have 2 of the skinny one.

When we bought them, the white was my least favorite. But once we got it rewired and cleaned up, it’s my favorite!

One made it to the booth today, and the rest will make their way in as I have room.

My husband and I went on an unexpected errand today.

I was contacted by someone with some lights to sell.

Oh. My. Word.

We got 6 vintage lights, with the possibility of more… 😳😳😳😳

3 of them are ready to go, and 3 need to be rewired. I’ll show those 3 later when they’re ready.

The chubby one will go to Cranberry in the morning.

The 2nd pic I have 2 of.

The others will all make their way in as I have room.

But just knowing these beauties are out there, just waiting to be rescued keeps me going!!

The second I saw this Dairy Queen metal straw box, it took me back to childhood.

I don’t know why I remember this, but it’s there, embedded in my memory.

And as soon as I saw it, I saw it as a Christmas tree base. With a removable tree of course so it could be used for other things during the year.

I had this white tree in the barn. Just waiting for the perfect base.

I think they’re perfect together.

In the junkin world, you never know where the day will go.

I love that!!

I didn’t know when I left my house this morning that I’d end up back home with 108 tiny filthy perfume bottles on 3 mirrored trays, and that I’d spend my afternoon cleaning them.

Makes me wonder how many years they sat there just collecting dust… and what happened to cause that?

But how stinkin cute are they??

And seriously. Who doesn’t need a glass caterpillar perfume bottle??!?

An observation from my junkin trip yesterday, and some of my weekend finds!

Yesterday I was at an amazing sale, and I found lots of great old goodness.

While I was there, I saw a couple that I’d say is close to my age.

I overheard the man say to the woman (I assume his wife?) “ok, but how much did you spend??”

What caught my attention was not the question, but the WAY the question was asked.

It didn’t sound like a “wow that’s amazing! How much was it??!?”

It was much more of an accusatory tone.

As an outsider, it’s very easy for me to hear this and write the story.

Maybe he was just asking. Maybe he was mad because she always overspends. Maybe I heard it all wrong and he just meant ok awesome. How much was that?

I don’t know.

But the way I heard it was not in a good way.

And it immediately made me VERY thankful that my husband has never asked me that question in that tone of voice.

All that to say, I am thankful for my husband, who always is a “go with the flow” guy, and knows that I know what I’m doing, and doesn’t question what I’m doing and how much I spend.

Yes, that comes from years of trust and seeing what I do.

But it seriously made me pause and think.

I think that’s a good thing.

And in the midst of all that thinking, I found some awesome stuff!!
