There was LOTS of redoing going on in the booths today!

I added this beautiful vintage lighted cabinet, and a lot of clocks!!

Now I’m tired and I need a bath… 😬

I have been MIA for a couple of weeks. 😊

My husband & my sister and her husband just got back from a 10 day trip to Europe.

It was FABULOUS!!!!!

But now, I guess it’s back to business. 😬

I will be taking lots of new old
goodies in tomorrow.

Including this beauty!!

She’s circa 1970’s. Made by Akro Mils. A 2 drawer plastic bright yellow file cabinet. Made in the USA.

Perfect for the intended office use, but it would also make an adorable end table or night stand. Or it would be adorable in a babies room to hold diapers, bitty socks and etc.

So many possibilities!

I’ll post pics tomorrow of all the goodness I take in!

I work my junk business as if it’s my job.

I realize that, and I am good with it.

But the reality is that I am retired. 😊❤️

I worked a big girl job (that I loved) for 32 years. I got to retire “young” because I started my big girl job literally a month out of high school.

Once I retired, I started a business, with my cousin Michelle, doing vintage shows. We did shows about once a month or so for 2 years. We quickly decided we aren’t made to haul furniture and such up and down the highway….😳.

So… I started my booth journey.

Since then I have been in a booth in Broken Arrow (where I live) and now a booth in Claremore (which I LOVE).

I say all that to say this.

Being “retired” is looked at as being over the hill.

I am ok with that. Whatever.

But being “retired” also gives me the freedom to do what I want.

And that freedom is worth working for!!

Today I haven’t been working my booth biz. (But I will later). I have been working on my back porch.

I got hot and tired. So…. Because I am retired and I get to choose, I laid down on my porch couch and took this picture.

If you are still working a 9-5 and you’re exhausted. I understand!

But know that if you hang in there, retirement is coming.

That doesn’t mean old unless you want that.

It means freedom.

Hang in there friends!!!!

Retirement is AMAZING.

I started a new series today for my daughter and her girlfriend called “vintage lessons from Mom”.

They are both interested in vintage. And as I am always talking incessantly about vintage, I decided to name it. 😬

I don’t often think about how long it’s taken me to learn all the things I know. I don’t even begin to pretend I know much, but compared to my 20 something girls, I know some things. 😊

Anyway, I thought I’d share lesson 1 here too.

Did you know that there is an EASY way to clean the black tarnish off silver?

I love silver. And I love tarnished silver… to a degree. But I don’t love it once it goes too far to black tarnish.

This stuff is magical!!

And easy! And cheap!

So pick up all the cheap, heavy, beautiful silver. And know you can make

My love for vintage chandeliers began as a child. My Grandma had one hanging over her dining room table from before I was born, so I grew up seeing it all the time.

Once she had to move to assisted living, and her home was seized by the turnpike authority, I got the chandelier and it now hangs over my dining room table. ♥️

Next came the one that hangs above my stairwell. (That one about did my husband in..)

Then a couple of weeks ago I went to an estate sale in a fabulous old home, and there were several chandeliers…. 😬😬

So I bought one with the hope that I could find a spot. I knew if not I could sell it, but I really wanted to keep It!!

After a lot of trial and error, my husband figured out how to make this beauty work in my laundry room!!

I LOVE LOVE it!!

So now I have 3. Wonder what I’ll find next…. 😬😊

This beauty isn’t going to make it to the store after all.

It’s a big heavy beast, and we decided there was no way it needed to go up and down the stairs to my booth. 😕

This is the 2nd skin I have found recently in my shop……

Now while google image says this is likely a rat snake, I do NOT care. I am firmly in the camp of there is not a good snake!

My inclination is to burn it down….. but I have such good things in there….

Wonder where the owners of those skins went…

Meanwhile, I am looking for a jar to put the skin in. I have sold those before…

And PS look at the gorgeous wood on the top of that table…. Once it’s refinished…..
