On occasion, I make a stock cover I do not have a mold for and I can’t get the customers stock to my shop. This is how I fit them, starting with careful tracing of the side profile as well as the butt end. They are hand sewn at an angle through the 90 degree seam. Takes a bit of extra work, but can turn out very nice. This one is fitted to a Wi******er High wall.

I built these tools bags last week for sale at my fall shows. Heavy chap leather bodies and bridle leather bottoms and handles. Large is 20x10x12. Small is 14x8x10. Available.

I patterned and built this sheath in a 2 hour demonstration yesterday. It can challenge what you think you know when you have to explain what you are doing. Knife by Billy Helton.

We have a nice set up here at the American Bladesmith Society’s Mid-American Hammer In here in Troy, Ohio. A variety of custom goods and some leather working tools are available. I really enjoyed doing a sheathmaking demonstration this afternoon

I just finished this Hunter style shoulder rig with convertible holster system for a revolver and 1911. This has a 1911 mag pouch on the shoulder strap and a belt pouch for a range finder. Custom built to order.

Every buttstock cover we make is wet molded on a model specific form, tooled while drying on the form, then removed, trimmed, edges polished, finish applied, and laced up, ready for use. This ensures a good fit with clean, sharp tooling.

On the first day of my trip to the Heart of Texas Leather Show I took a holster class with Chris Andre/Slickbald Custom Leather. He gave solid, well explained instruction on leather, contructuon, fit, and finish for a quality holster. I really enjoyed my time in the class and learned how to execute some processes in useful ways, different from my own.

2 weeks ago I took a trip to Texas for a leather workers convention. I had the pleasure of taking a class with Jim Linnell to carve this wallet back. It was a great chance to study with a master of over 50 years experience and do detail on a smaller scale than I usually do.
