Spiritual Bites: "Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect?" It goes on to say that Jesus, at the right hand of God, makes intercession for us. If Jesus is praying for us rather than bad mouthing us to God, should we not also pray for those we are upset with rather than mouthing them?? I am preaching to myself today and having to ask the Lord's forgiveness.

The other morning as I awoke, the Holy Spirit spoke into my mind: "Feed my sheep."
It has puzzled me all my life that Jesus repeated himself 3 times. I decided to read this in my Greek to English Lexicon. To my surprise I learned He did not repeat himself.
The first time He ask Peter, "Do you love me?" He told Peter, "Feed my lambs."
The seconded time Jesus told Peter to "Shepherd His sheep." The last time He ask Peter, Do you love me?" He told Peter, "Feed my little sheep" How awesome!! Each one represents a different place in our Christian walk. "Feed my lambs," would be to teach new Christians. "Shepherd my Sheep," is directing Peter to protect and strengthen the mature Christian, helping them to remain strong in the Lord. "Feed my little lambs," is directing Peter to continue to teach Christian until they reach maturity!!! I love this. I realized Jesus was telling Peter to be a pastor to the Christian world. I had always thought this was an evangelical statement like the great commission: but no, it is helping Christians grow in faith. Many times we emphasize evangelism but forget to feed our new converts, helping them to stay connected to the Lord and to the church. Growing Christians does not happen by happen chance. I encourage you, any Christian you know who is younger in the Lord than yourself, that you teach them and be patient with them. It takes time to mature in the Lord. Thank you for listening!!!
