It’s Here. ⚓

Today, The Journey of a Salty Soul is officially available.

It’s difficult to put into words what it feels like to finally write that sentence.

What started as an idea became a few pages. Those pages became chapters. The chapters became a story. And somewhere along the way, that story became something much bigger than I ever expected.

There were long nights, rewrites, edits, mistakes, lessons, and more than a few moments when I wondered what I had gotten myself into.

But today, I’m holding the finished book in my hands.

I don’t know where this journey will lead. I don’t know how many people will read it, or when the first reader I’ve never met will discover it.

And that’s okay.

Today isn’t about sales numbers.

It’s about knowing that the story is finally out there for someone to find.

To everyone who has encouraged me, followed along, asked about the book, shared a post, or simply told me to keep going—thank you.

The Journey of a Salty Soul is available now on Kindle and in paperback, with the hardcover coming soon.

Every great journey begins by untying the lines.

Today, we untie them.

Fair winds,

Michael Hoskins

The Secret Is Out

A little while ago, I posted a small teaser that something new was coming.

Well... I guess it's time to let the secret out.

I wrote a book.

If you've known me through the jewelry store for any length of time, that probably wasn't the announcement you were expecting. To be fair, a few years ago I wouldn't have expected it either.

Somewhere between the jewelry store, the ice cream parlor, everyday life, and dreaming about boats and distant horizons, I started writing a story.

That story eventually became The Journey of a Salty Soul, my first novel and the beginning of the Salty Soul Chronicles.

And this Tuesday, August 11, it officially launches.

I'll have copies available here at the store as soon as they arrive, and there's plenty more coming—including a special evening we're planning for September that I'll tell you more about very soon.

For those of you who have already seen the book in the store and asked when you could buy one, thank you. Your excitement has meant more to me than you probably realize.

I certainly never expected to add author to the list of things I do.

Then again, life has a funny way of taking you places you never expected to go.

Sometimes you just have to untie the lines.
