Follow these tips for cleaner, safer wood splitting:

1. Choose an open outdoor area away from people where there is plenty of room to swing an axe
2. Set your chopping block on a low, flat surface (no higher than your knee)
3. Keep both hands firmly on the handle of the axe, straighten your arms and aim for the center of the log
