Captain Spicer's Gallery and Gifts opened it's doors for business on August 17, 1983. Captain Spicers began as a nautical gift shop devoted to the culture and history of the 1000 Islands. That same tradition continues today, but the store has been enlarged to accommodate the growing gift and art selections. We began our stoneware tradition with one single mug. The stoneware collections have grown
to over 1000 custom pieces, that are still available within the store and now online. Our signature stoneware collections have been cherished for over two decades. Captain Spicer's custom hand painted stoneware is created by Louisville Stoneware Co. in Louisville, Kentucky. They have been producing quality stoneware since 1815. Our store is as rich with the history of the 1000 Islands as it is with its wares. The main reason that Captain Spicers stands out from the rest of the gift shops is the quality. Our store has always made sure that quality of our items is the most important aspect, next to our customer satisfaction. All of our custom made items in the store are made in the USA, with a fair price to match the quality of the item. With the customer in mind, we set out to create gifts, that would not only be fine crafted, but practical as well. A lovely Shop for all who LOVE the River as much as we do!!!
