Spotting a few too many gnats buzzing around lately? 🦟 You're not alone — and the fix is easier than you'd think.

Gnats love moisture and organic matter, so the usual suspects are overwatered houseplants, food left out on the counter, and grimy kitchen drains. A few pro tips: let the top inch of soil dry out between waterings, wipe down counters daily, and try a simple DIY trap — apple c***r vinegar, a drop of dish soap, and a splash of water in a small bowl does the trick.

We had a great weekend at Flowers with the Market at the Crossroads and our Concert Series! Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the weekend with us.

Now, we’re looking ahead to October—and we have a lot happening! Make plans to join us for some great community events:

October 10 | Market at the Crossroads | 8:00 a.m.–Noon
Join us for our next Market at the Crossroads and shop from a great selection of local vendors!

October 13 | National Night Out | 5:30–7:30 p.m.
One of our biggest community events of the year! Enjoy FREE activities including sno cones, face painting, bounce houses, inflatable obstacle courses, a DJ, games, and a special guest for pictures and fun!
Come meet our local first responders and community partners and explore vehicles and equipment from the NC Highway Patrol, Johnston County Sheriff's Office, Duke Energy, North Side Fire & Rescue, Johnston County Emergency Services, and more. Food trucks will also be on site with dinner available for purchase.

October 22 | Flowers Business Expo | 3:00–6:00 p.m. | Concert Park
Come discover the businesses right here in Flowers! Our local businesses and restaurants will be set up in one location to meet residents and visitors, share information, and showcase what they offer.
