Yep. The Dennees can't sleep, so we entrepreneur instead. BUT, we haven't yet discovered how to bilocate. Until we do, we will not be at farmer's markets.

💦Processing lard today, which we picked up from The Smokehouse in Woodville, WI yesterday. It's as fresh as it gets.

💦If you've ever turned pork fat into white, luxurious lard you know it's a labor of love, but we feel there's no other way to be this sure of the quality of product (not to mention the lowered environmental impact and increased economic benefit of sourcing locally).

💦Lard increases the life of your soap bar and makes it more moisturizing and conditioning. It's something that makes our soap different from most, but it's a highly traditional soap ingredient historically (with good reason!).

🧼Sometimes mixing soap is meditative - it's such s wonder. The batter is so gorgeous at this stage. We turn a pot of oils and milk into a solid bar just by mixing ingredients together - no cooking or baking required, just a chemical change that takes oils and lye from caustic batter to usable, solid soap in about 24 hours.

We let it cure another several weeks because continued evaporation of water and ongoing changes in the soap's molecular structure contribute longevity to the bar and fluffy, lasting lather. Chemistry, craft and art all in one useful product. 😍

Len and Diana are the most wonderful people - we have felt very blessed to get to know them and benefit from their riding lessons for our kiddos.
