Today one of my favorite employees retired from Publix Super Markets Super Markets after 45 years of service.

Several years ago, I became friends with Arthur one evening while trying to decide on a cut of steak. I had been perusing the meat selection for several minutes when he approached me, offering to help. I had (our) My Family’s Seasonings in my basket, and explained that I wanted a nice juicy steak to cook for dinner. (I always buy our products when I am at Publix and give them away to employees or customers.) I began to share our story, how we are local manufactures here in Tampa, and where we are sold in the store.

Turns out, not only was Arthur aware of our products, but knew how amazing our Prime Rib Seasoning was for the holidays (his words, I swear!).

Over the years, I enjoyed our grocery store chats when I popped into the store, which admittedly, was more frequent than most shoppers. We actually got to know each other. He met my kids; I met his grandson. He would tell me about his family, his barbecue cookouts, and of course his looming retirement.

Well, today was the day, and I wanted to be there to give him a going away gift basket and a hug. It was important to me to let him know how much I valued him; not just as a Publix employee, but as human being.

Soon, Arthur will be taking a cruise with his wife to celebrate his 45-year journey with Publix, and I wish him nothing but happiness for this next chapter of his life.

What a difference it makes when a grocery retailer empowers their employees to build relationships with their customers.

Pro Tip:
Scramble a raw egg to add to the ground beef. This acts as a binding agent when combined with our savory seasonings! 🍔 Add a generous amount of seasonings to the ground beef with an egg (general rule of thumb: one egg per pound of ground beef) and mix thoroughly. Shape into patties for burgers or sliders, then grill about 3 minutes each side for a medium well burger. Add cheese immediately after flipping burgers. Do not flatten the patties unless you’re making a but we prefer our burgers juicy!

Yesterday I attended the Florida GMR Publix Supplier Meeting with my company My Family’s Seasonings, LLC amongst over 1,800 attendees packed into one room! It was great to see some familiar faces and make new connections.

Here are my key takeaways:

📈Publix is poised for 5.25% growth in 2026 with 44 new store locations opening this year. As of 2025 they operate 1,434 stores across the southeast — & they’re expanding into Kentucky with 5 new stores already open.

📱 Publix app usage is up 15% — digital coupons are now a real velocity driver for brands. If you’re not advertising on the Publix app, you’re leaving money on the table.

📊 All suppliers now have access to data within the Publix portal regardless of scorecard performance. This is a game changer. Previously this visibility was limited — now every supplier can dig into store-level analytics to improve performance.

🤖 AI-driven forecasting is now enabling deeper store-level data analysis to improve fill rates and accelerate purchase orders. Publix expects suppliers to maintain a 98% fill rate at all times.

📲 A new Supplier Pro app launches in Q3 2026 for select suppliers — giving direct access to promotional tools, funding offers, forecast reviews and more. Watch for this one.

🛒 A new BOGO option is now available through the Extra Savings Flyer — a brand new promotional tool that opens up exciting opportunities for suppliers to drive retail lift.

⚠️ FDA compliance for the new Food Modernization Act regulations goes into effect July 20, 2028. Suppliers who are not compliant will be discontinued. Start now — don’t wait.

What Publix wants from suppliers:

Maintain a 98% fill rate
Use the data available in the portal
Keep open lines of communication with your buyer
