Have you ever looked at an ingredient label and wondered what was actually creating the scent? I know I have! I used to think that if a product said “organic,” it automatically meant every ingredient was natural. The more I learned about skincare formulation and ingredient labels, the more I realized it isn’t always that simple. For example, did you know strawberries don’t produce an essential oil? Neither do cherries, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, or watermelon. So when you see products scented like these fruits, it’s worth asking: what exactly is making the scent? It may be using a natural fragrance, a synthetic fragrance, or another aromatic ingredient. The important thing is knowing what’s actually in it. That realization completely changed the way I read ingredient labels and it’s one of the reasons I started Mother Eve’s Shoppe! 🌿
