Anclote River Adventure: Part 1!

We had a fantastic paddle through Tarpon Springs! The day started out hot, but it wasn’t long before a refreshing breeze rolled in. Storms were building off shore and moving inland all day—yet somehow, the rain managed to skirt right around us. Maybe it was our stop at historic Spring Bayou (where the Epiphany cross is thrown every January), or maybe it was just good luck. You be the judge!

We made our way over to Spring Bayou from the launch, though new seawall construction and barriers kept us from paddling all the way into the spring basin. We were still able to get a great view of the area to point out the history to the group. The sky looked menacing, but all we got was a light, refreshing drizzle—honestly, I was almost disappointed when it stopped!

There is something so satisfying about looking down at a fleet of kayaks parked on the sand. After a lively, choppy paddle out from Crystal Beach, our crew made it to this little spoil island paradise. ☀️ Paddles down, lunch out, and nothing but good vibes. 🛶✨

Island time is the best time! 🏝️☀️
A quick look back from the shoreline of our little slice of paradise! Watching the horizon from a private spoil island makes every bit of the choppy paddle out completely worth it. The kayaks are lined up, the sun is shining, and the water is perfect. 🛶✨
