At Harding’s Family Restaurant in Charleston, West Virginia you’ll find tasty home-cooked meals served in a relaxed country setting that has been welcoming hungry folks for decades. The restaurant opened in March 1980 near the Mink Shoals exit, and the building was originally built by Jack D. Harding Sr. The menu is packed with filling favorites including baked steak, chicken and dumplings, liver and onions, country fried steak, and breakfast dishes like pancakes served with warm syrup. Breakfast is available all day, and the restaurant sits at 2772 Pennsylvania Avenue just off I-79 Exit 1. There’s also a small gift shop, plenty of free parking with room for trucks and buses, and a banquet room for gatherings. Harding’s marked 40 years in business in 2020, when co-owner Angela Harding said more than 10 million meals had been served. Save room for the graham cracker pie or a hot fudge cake topped with ice cream and warm fudge.
