Sometimes it starts with a question. Sometimes with something I needed, something I wanted, or an idea I just couldn’t leave alone.

From it, the intention, and from there I begin choosing the ingredients, exploring formulations, experimenting, adjusting, and bringing it all together.

Eventually, what began at my blending table makes its way into your home, where it becomes part of your own moments, choices, and everyday life.

That’s something I love about creating. The intention is there from beginning to end, but what you make of it is entirely yours.

People assume I work only on Sundays because that’s the part they can see.

The tent. The tables. The products. Me behind the booth talking to people and laughing. But Sunday is just where the work becomes more visible.

I’ve been making products for 12 years and formally working with my hands for 16. I formulate, test, choose ingredients, make everything from scratch, pour, cut, blend, cure, label and package it.

There’s also the website, content, photography, sourcing, inventory, planning, bookkeeping, markets, writing, workshops, podcasting and all the work it takes to keep building this business.

Then Sunday comes. I load the car, drive to the market and build my shop from the ground up. At the end of the day, I take it all down and bring it home.

So when you see me on Sunday, you’re seeing the visible part of a much bigger body of work.

And if you’ve ever enjoyed what I make, something I’ve written, a conversation at my booth, or simply what this business stands for, sharing my work with someone you think would connect with it helps more than you probably realize.

It helps all this work be seen.✨

Why do we keep saving pleasure for a version of life that hasn’t happened yet?

The good soap. The candle. The dress. The dishes you apparently need a special dinner party to use.

You already liked it enough to bring it home. Use it. You don’t need to be falling apart, celebrating something, or have a reason. Today counts.

I love making a big deal out of my birthday. Sharing that celebration with you has become part of it.

This Sunday, October 4, any purchase at my booth comes with a surprise gift, no minimum, while gifts last. The DIY Seasonal Roller Bar is back, choose an intention, herbs and create your own blend.

There’s more coming throughout October, including seasonal restocks and new creations for the Harvest Festival on Halloween. For now, you’re invited to my birthday celebration.

By 9 AM, you see a finished booth. You don’t see all the choices that went into getting there, including how I choose to show up.

The products on my table begin with an intention and is the “map” to choose the ingredients, and I carry it through each batch I make by hand. Then I pack the whole shop into my car and set it up again at the market.

And once the booth is ready, there’s the work that happens with people: catching up with my market neighbors, listening when someone tells me what kind of day they’re having, helping them find something that fits, or giving them room to look without pressure. Seeing the new member of the family (kids and pets) of the people that stops regularly…That matters to me just as much as what’s on the table.

I’m so grateful to everyone who stops by, talks with me, takes something home, or comes back to see me again.

I’ll be at the market again this Sunday from 9am-2pm, come say hi! If you can’t make it, we ship over the mail! Check out the website, soapscandlesanddots.com or DM if you have questions.

I asked in my Moon Letter: What lessons from this season will I carry forward? I’m still sitting with that question.

Gathered Gold and Equal Ground came out of preparing for autumn and looking at two things at once: what has grown that I haven’t fully recognized, and what helps me stay steady when life changes.

I made each roller with an intention, and each comes with a reflection. What you take from it is yours. You can get one already made on my website, or come choose what goes into yours with me at Clermont Farmers Market this Sunday, 9–2.

When you choose something I’ve made, you also support the time it takes to keep making and sharing this work. Thank you for that.

What lesson are you carrying forward?

Familiarity can feel like belonging.

We know the rhythm. We know the expectations. We know how to move around the parts that drain us and keep everything functioning.

But knowing how to carry something does not mean it still belongs to us.

The Wheel is turning toward the Equinox, and the moon is growing. I’m using this threshold to look at what deserves more of my energy and what has remained simply because I already know how to live with it.

This is where intention begins in my work. Before choosing the herbs, blending the oils, or lighting the candle, I name what I want the ritual to support.

So take this question with you:

Does this still belong in the life I’m creating?

Keep what feels true. Leave what doesn’t align.
