Hello to all of our beloved Customers, Students, Teachers and Parents!
We at the Music Store wish you a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Here's a little Valentine's history (via Google Gemini):
The Legend of Saint Valentine: The Catholic Church recognizes three martyred saints named Valentine. The most popular legend claims a 3rd-century priest defied Emperor Claudius II’s marriage ban by performing secret ceremonies for young soldiers. While imprisoned, he healed his jailer's blind daughter and sent a final note signed "From your Valentine" before his ex*****on in 270 A.D. In 496 A.D., Pope Gelasius I declared Feb 14 as St. Valentine's Day.
Evolution into a Romantic Holiday: The link to romance began in the 14th century with poet Geoffrey Chaucer. The oldest surviving written valentine is a 1415 poem by the Duke of Orleans. By the 1840s, Esther A. Howland began mass-producing valentines in the U.S.
In honor of Valentine's Day, let's all resolve to treat others the way we want to be treated! We pledge to continue doing the same.
Now, a few announcements:
1. We have interviewed candidates for Lesson Coordinator and will name someone soon! Thank you for your patience.
2. Next month, we begin a new official community event: an Instrument Swap Meet in the front parking lot! It will be every second Saturday, 12-6, with a free Bluegrass Jam from 4-6, overseen by our luthier, Keith.
3. FREE rehearsal rooms are open (no drums sorry) when lessons aren't in session! Call 352-243-5868 to book.
4. Open Mic is back next Friday at 7 PM! This free official community event happens every third Friday. Hope to see you there!
5. Don't forget our Recording Studio and Repairs! Send anyone needing a tune-up or help with a recording project (song, audiobook, commercial, podcast) our way! (Search "Tofa Always On My Mind" to check out a song we recently produced and released!)
"Love will always win"
Let's not wait until next Valentine's Day to show our appreciation to those we care for!
Thanks,
Rick
