Worth noting: So SOLGW is selling what they initially submitted for the SOCOM contract (with a chrome-lined and/or stainless-steel barrel).
Armad barrels were not available at time of testing and the BCG is reportedly also the same as the commercial variant. Armad barrels will no doubt be supplied to fulfill the contract (or new solicitation) accordingly under newly established specs, as will any necessary changes to the BCG (if at all).

Maybe the real scam was the friends we made along the way 🤷🏻‍♂️

As it turns out... Proof hadn't finalized the PXT twist rate for 5.56 by the time of the SOCOM contract, so SOLGW could only submit CL (chrome lined) & SS (stainless steel) barrels for the down select. Rules & regs state that SOLGW can only sell SOCOM what they submitted for testing, and so, the SOCOM contract guns have the SS barrel. And all of this went down two years ago.

Bear in mind, the MK1 was already commercially available to the market well before the SOCOM contract announcement had been made, and people had been able to buy them for a while. Marketing the "MK1" had nothing to do with the fact that it was "the SOCOM contract gun."

All the talk about ARMAD barrels being used/required for high pressure or hypervelocity ammo is concerning... something else entirely (HICAR), having nothing to do with the SOCOM contract announced in Q4 2025.

Given that ARMAD is expensive and difficult to machine (read: not something you'd wanna f**k up), it makes sense that SOLGW would have waited until Proof got the PXT twist rate for 5.56 figured out (which presumably happened well before they unveiled PXT to the public last week).

That's show business, for ya.

Words will never be able to convey our sincere thanks and gratitude to those who have gone before us, who believed in something much bigger than themselves, to serve and sacrifice for their fellow man and country, for these United States - the greatest country on Earth. We will remember and pay tribute to them on this Memorial Day.

Today, on this Memorial Day, we remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for something bigger than themselves, for the belief in fighting for and securing freedom from the evil that exists.
Men, women, black and white... all Americans, all Red, White and Blue. United in service to country. From those who have perished in World Wars to those who passed on more recently as part of our history against terrorism and despotic governments.
We are humbled by their sacrifice and owe them a debt that is impossible to repay, save to continue the tradition in service and to continue to fight for just causes and to protect and defend our home and country, these United States of America.
We shall never forget and we will always honor those who answered the call to selflessly serve knowing the potential cost and did so anyway... memorialized, remembered and we thank you on this Memorial Day.
