Some raw pictures of two Indonesian Megs that we just received in a recent batch. I absolutely LOVE the blue specimens that come from this locality. The only issue is their roots. Not all of them are like this, but most of the roots are often brittle, damaged, or shaped/sculpted with compacted soil. These two specimens have all natural roots with some minor damage.
But when you truly compare these to some that you see on the open market, you can clearly see the difference. Whats a way that you can tell? One big one is texture. Especially if you dont have the specimen in hand.
Another way is sound. If you have a Meg in hand and you're curious, tape on the tooth with your fingernail. Does it make a *tink tink tink* sound? Similar to when you tap on glass or a piece of ceramic? If so, then it's a legit root. If not, there may be something added. Just something to consider when buying these darker teeth.
