It is another sad day for the family we call The Raceway...

Georgia Jimmy Payne was part of our family of misfits who loved this hobby of racing small model cars. He also loved the full size cars and motorcycles and was part of a motorcycle drag race team who competed in PDRA.

Georgia loved all types of slot cars but mostly concentrated oval racing at The Raceway. He competed in our endro's and even made some appearances on the road course. The time he shocked me was when he made an appearance at one of the Flexi Challenge races at Apex...and had a very respectable day!

We will all miss Jimmy very much !

There coming back!

The "New" Raceway will have a full 1/32 program.

While the delays have been excruciating, we are making progress.

Our new road course is on the water and making its way to us.

A few of the larger items are wrapping up, like new concrete at the entrance

We picked up some exciting inventory that we will share a little later.

It will be busy days putting things in place but progress should be accelerating over the next 2 weeks.

This is only 4 miles from the new location at the intersection with 411.

I checked a room yesterday and they seem to be decent.

There is also a Food City grocery, with a deli that serves all sorts of hot fresh made food, a BBQ place and Mc Donald's right across the street, a Mexican restaurant and a Taco restaurant, a Dollar General (there are at least 3 more within 5 miles), a Hardee's, an Italian restaurant @ a mile or 2 farther and a couple other choices along 411.

In the other direction there is a Sonic and Shake Shack at about 4/5 miles.

You can use all 3 exits off of 75 to get here;

Coming north, exit 20 turns into the bypass and you take the Ocoee exit onto 64/Waterlevel Hwy. We are an industrial building on the right next to the Zion Assembly Church of God.

Exit 25 is the north side of the bypass and the best exit to take if you are coming south on 75. This exit has several hotel options as well as many food options. Take the same Ocoee exot onto 64/waterlevel hwy.

Exit 27 is the North Cleveland exit. There are more hotel and food options as this is probably the busiest road (Paul Huff) in town. You will probably need GPS for this exit, but it is also only @ 9 miles to the building.

If your coming from the Murphy NC direction, once you pass over 411, look for a large electronic billboard on your right, about 3.5 miles. You will need to take the next U-turn to your left, and go back about 1/4 mile, we are on the right.

All of Cleveland, Ocoee and Benton are within about 15 min....lots of options for all your needs!

A huge thank you to Steve Shelburne and Shelburne RV for some very cool decorations pieces for The Raceway - Cleveland TN .
Steve has been a long time supporter of the Raceway, Flexi Challenge Series, and Summer Heat Flexi Challenge. They moved to Florida last year so we haven't seen them for a while.

A couple of nice metal wall hangers and a VERY COOL signed Courtney Force Traxxas funny car.
