This week in the garden 8/3/26. Finally rain and cooler weather. The canna are in full bloom, attracting hummingbirds and bees of all kinds. The groundhog is still eating the leaves off the vegetables, sunflowers and the dahlias. This cooler wetter weather may bring some callas into bloom.

This Musa Velutina is such a reliable bloomer. That flower emerged less that 30 hours ago. This heatwave has done wonders.

This week in the garden. 7/15/26 7:50 AM EDT. This was@filmed@earlier than usual because today is expected to be another hot 🥵 and humid day. A hummingbird had already flown by doing its job of collecting nectar from the canna. It’s peak daylily time. The squirrels haven’t found the acornss yet

This week in the garden 7/6/26. The garden had some struggles with last weeks extreme heat and humidity. This was followed by some intense storms. With the canna in bloom we are seeing plenty of ruby theoated hummingbirds. So@many baby birds, squirrels and two baby groundhogs that want to taste everything. The tropicals enjoyed the heat and humidity and put out so much growth. The narrow forest planted by the fence to stabilize the hill behind us. Thank you for visiting with me weekly.
