“HOLY HELL.” Rhonda is blown away by this fantastic gift from Mike Shea It is Ruffian Books massive brand new book “Anarchy In The Studio: Punk Music 1970-1979 | The Rise of Punk Rock.”
The love for the subject matter is quite evident beginning with the custom made mailing box (created by Mike himself). As we open the box, we find the book elegantly gift wrapped with a punk rock themed paper. Rhonda carefully opened that to find inside the book that are bonus fliers and a letter from Mike himself. A quick flip through the book, and we see beautifully laid out graphics and thorough content over 500 plus pages. This is currently my favorite DEFACED ALBUM COVER from Greg Wooten’s amazing collection on exhibit Sixty Bowls Gallery gallery. For me, there so much to like about. First there is Paul with clown makeup eyes; the DEEP PURPLE shirt cuffs. The other rock band names all over. The hands sticking out from behind the trunk. And how about John’s BLACK SABBATH and UFO SOCKS. George gets a beard and Paul Stanley Star makeup, whilst proudly rocking an Aerosmith shirt and THE WHO jacket. Ring also rocks a beard and Aerosmith jacket. So much humor all over. If you missed last week’s opening, you can join us tonight for the closing party at 3125 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland from 5 to 7 pm. Swing by and join us for a couple of laughs.

In memory of Tim Curry, my friend Bob Ferrell, the legendary former CLEVELAND SCENE photographer, sent me these three images earlier.today. These photographs were taken by Bob at the former Heights Theater on September 29, 1978 to celebrate the third anniversary of the release of the Rocky horror show.

Hello. This is Phil speaking. I have an update regarding the closing of THE DEFACED COVERS showing Sixty Bowls Gallery gallery. Since I really must be going, the closing will be FRIDAY, August 28th from 5-7 pm. As was mentioned in our previous post, Mr Wooten will not be there, but we do have plenty copies of his book MARRED FOR LIFE (signed by Greg himself). Well hello there. In case you missed it, here’s a peak inside Sixty Bowls Gallery gallery for the Greg Wooten collection of DEFACED ALBUM COVERS. Blue Arrow Records would like to thank everyone who submitted entries to our DEFACED ALBUM COVERS CONTEST. Each entry was truly fantastic . I hope that you as much fun creating them as we did viewing them. For those of you who want to see the collection in person, you have one more opportunity on Saturday, August 29th from 5 to 7 pm at Sixty Bowls Gallery, 3125 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44113. Unfortunately, Mr. Wooten won’t be there, but you can still admire his collection and have a laugh or two whilst doing so. Hope to see you there.
