A Message to Our Customers
***(Please Share)***
A few weeks ago, I removed the Flock camera that had been located at the entrance to our parking lot. The camera was removed and is currently sitting on the floor inside our warehouse.
I also formally notified Flock that I want the camera removed from our property, as well as the camera post for which Flock obtained a permit to install on the easement adjoining the property.
Then, without sufficient notice or warning, Flock reinstalled a camera.
Under the advice of my attorney, I cannot touch or remove that camera myself, as doing so could potentially make me liable for damage.
I want to make something very clear to our customers:
We do not want this camera there.
When we originally installed the Flock system, we did so for one reason: to protect our store, our employees and our customers. As many of you know, gun stores are frequently targeted by criminals, and we believed the technology could provide an additional layer of security (Gun Commanders had 5 previous burglary attempts).
The system we utilized was a closed-loop network, unlike many Flock programs, and I want our customers to understand that distinction. Nobody's privacy was compromised!
But regardless of how the system operates, we are strongly pro-Second Amendment and strongly pro-privacy. We believe in the rights of our customers, and we believe you should be able to visit a fi****ms store without feeling like your privacy is being compromised.
This camera was not something we asked Flock to reinstall.
It will be removed.
We are working with our attorney now and will get to the bottom of exactly how and why this happened.
I appreciate your patience and, most importantly, your continued support of Gun Commanders.
We will keep you informed (stay tuned) as this develops.
