Since 1921 Sherman Plumbing and Heating Company has been proudly serving Clinton and surrounding areas. Over the years we’ve built a reputation as an expert, honest, and dependable company. The company was purchased by Steve and Julie Hadley in January of 2019. Under their new ownership, Sherman Plumbing and Heating Company continues to move forward in the proud legacy that was started over 100 years ago. The landmark Sherman Plumbing and Heating Company “leaky faucet” sign was installed in 1949 and was the first animated sign in Clinton. The sign features red and green lettering and blue drips. The three blue drips are then followed by a splash.

We're back for another installment of everyone's favorite game on the Sherman's socials: What is This Thing? Today's thing comes from the tool wall. It's about a foot long, made of metal, and has a rubber handle. What do you think? Give us your best, worst, or funniest (family friendly!) guess of what this thing is and what it does in the comments! If you don't know, phone a friend and have them guess too! Can you smell the pumpkin spice in the air? Yeah, yeah, I know it's, like, 100 degrees and will be for the foreseeable future, but it is the perfect time to get your name on the list for a fall check and service! We both know how this goes in Missouri: it's 100 degrees until suddenly it isn't, then you've got about 2 weeks of moderate weather before it's freezing again. That little bit of nice weather is our sweet spot for check and services, especially in heat pump systems that need refrigerant levels checked. Don't spend the first days of fall shivering! For an appropriate sum of just $258 (nearly $5,000 today) you can enjoy the luxury and relaxation that comes from letting your sink wash the dishes for you. As the booklet says, "Science has electrified the sink. Now your dishes can be washed electrically, with such delightful ease and such conscientious thoroughness that you will date the dawning of a new era from the coming of the Kohler Electric Sink." Today certainly marks a new era for us here at Sherman's, because this booklet we located in our archives (see: box we found in the attic) confirms that we've been involved in appliances since at least 1927! This booklet is a gold mine of 1920s history, so keep an eye on our socials for more about the Kohler Electric Sink!
