Educated Knits was founded in 2016 in Clinton, Connecticut. What started as a small after school hobby for English teacher and shop owner, Amanda Fairbanks, soon morphed into a business that currently sells hand knit fashion accessories in select boutiques along shoreline Connecticut as well as online. The shop currently operates out of Amanda's historic 1750s home. Each accessory created is hand
knit and uniquely different. Every hand knit is made to order; therefore, it is easy to customize style and color! Educated Knits strives to offer premium yarn options including wool blends, alpaca blends, 100% wool, 100% cashmere and 100% alpaca. Once an order is placed, shop owner, Amanda, will diligently hand knit your fashion accessory until it is ready to be enjoyed. Keep in mind that minor imperfections in the yarn may occur, a characteristic that makes a handmade item so wonderful. Educated Knits also specializes in custom orders. Any hand knit listed can be altered to fit the customer's specific fashion needs. Some knits can substitute wool blends for cashmere, substitute solid colors for stripes or color blends, or can be altered to ensure the hand knit fit properly.
