Carbon Monoxide year round safety tips!

☀️ Carbon monoxide (CO) safety isn't just a winter concern—it’s important all year long!

During the summer, CO incidents can happen when generators are used during power outages, grills are operated too close to homes, or fuel-powered equipment is used in garages, sheds, or other enclosed spaces.

✔️ Make sure you have working carbon monoxide alarms installed outside sleeping areas.
✔️ Never use generators indoors or in attached garages.
✔️ Keep grills and fuel-powered equipment outside and away from doors, windows, and vents.

CO is colorless, odorless, and deadly. Take a few minutes today to make sure your family is protected.

Firefighters responded to a basement fire this weekend that filled a home with smoke and displaced several occupants. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries, but the incident serves as an important reminder about electrical safety in the home.

Protect your family by:
-Avoiding overloaded outlets and power strips
-Unplugging items after use (toasters, cell phone/computer chargers, etc.)
-Replacing damaged cords and plugs
-Using extension cords ONLY as temporary solutions
-Having electrical issues inspected by a qualified professional
-Testing smoke alarms monthly

Many home fires start from accidental causes and could be prevented through routine inspections and safe practices. Smoke alarms, early detection, and quick action can save lives and property.
Take a moment today to identify and correct potential electrical hazards in your home.
