When I was a kid everyone seemed to remember where they were when they learned JFK had been shot. I believe 9/11 to be that version for our generation.

On this day in 2001, I sat in my living room, nursing my oldest (and only child at the time) and watching the news as I do everyday. I sat glued to my TV all day, stopping only to call my parents and husband at work. I knew no one who died that day, yet I am always so full of emotion on the anniversary as I recall the emotions felt 25 years ago on that day and those that follow. Every year my prayer is that our nation unites again the way that it did on September 12th. Please join me in that prayer.

As we have officially left our son in Boston again, I am reminded of these envelopes i have made in the past to send notes and gift cards for your college student for all the times they may wish you were there.

(Hint: in the “for when you miss me” envelope, I placed a gift card to a place I knew we both had, then we both went at the same time and FaceTimed a lunch together)

I’ve been burnt out so Mother Goose has clocked out for a few days! Stretching summer as far as we can with a trip to Boston (got my son back!) and then on to Maine with hopes of seeing a moose and lots of lobster in my future!

My boy went back to film school in Boston on Friday. I couldn’t let him leave without making him this Little Golden Book journal. Harrison Ford has been his favorite celebrity for as long as I can remember. He can use this to do movie reviews, plan his next film, etc.
