📣 Neighbor News!

As many of you know, I love to nerd out about the cannabis industry. I've had many chats about growing, infusions, edibles, and even skincare (and also why we don't make or sell anything in the shop!)

This is why I'm so hype about our soon-to-be neighbors down the street at Evergreen Retail - Cobleskill (813 E. Main St.) gearing up to open Cobleskill's first adult-use cannabis dispensary. And good news, they're hiring!

Two community hiring events at The Peppercorn North (Cobleskill Golf & Country Club, 2322 Route 7).

🗓️ TONIGHT: Friday, Oct 2, 4 - 7 pm
🗓️ Saturday, Oct 3, 11 am - 2 pm

Stop by to learn about the industry, meet the team, ask your questions, and maybe find your next gig. They are such good folks.

Heads up: this is an informational hiring event only. No cannabis sales or consumption. Save that energy for opening day. 😉

Know someone looking for work? Tag them or share this. 💚

If you go, give them big hugs from me, I'll be at the shop and can't make it down!

If you had fun at PrideFest last year and want to help make 2027 bigger and better, we could use your help! The first planning meeting is tonight, I'd love to see you there. ❤️

TONIGHT is when it begins! PrideFest 2027 planning officially kicks off with our 🌈 SchoCo PrideFest 2027 Planning Meeting at Mineral Springs Soap at 784 E Main in Cobleskill at 6 pm.

We want PrideFest 2027 to be shaped by as many voices from our community as possible.

Tag a friend to let them know about the meeting, or better yet, bring them along!

The more hands we have, the lighter the work and the bigger the impact. 🏳️‍🌈 You don't have to take on a leadership role; there are volunteer gigs for all levels of commitment.

Can't make it to the meeting in person but still want to be part of the planning? 💬 Comment here, and we'll make sure you're looped in!

Congratulations to our friends at Evergreen Retail - Cobleskill for getting closer to opening their new location across the street in Cobleskill. 💚 If you are interested in working for a fabulous community-minded company doing things right, please attend one of their upcoming hiring events. 😘

Evergreen Retail is getting ready to open Cobleskill’s first adult-use dispensary at 813 East Main Street!

But before we open our doors, we need to build our team.

We’re holding two community hiring events October 2nd & 3rd at The Peppercorn North. Full-time and part-time positions, $17–$23/hour, and all experience levels are welcome.

Come meet us, learn a little about Evergreen and the industry, and see if there’s a place for you on our team.

Not looking for a job but have questions about the industry? Licensing, regulations, how it all works — come by and ask. We’re happy to talk and answer what we can — we’ll have plenty of food and refreshments available.

See you soon!

✌️

Goodbye to the broken window! The replacement window was ordered a few weeks ago and is being installed today by Ken from Cobleskill Glass with help from some friends. It's been a pleasure to work with Ken, and we highly recommend Cobleskill Glass. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A thank you to the generous folks who have stopped in or messaged to contribute towards the replacement, it means a lot to us to have the support of the community after what happened. 🫶

Justin from Enviro-Master of Albany is cleaning the windows to prep for fresh window painting. (Justin's company is who normally cleans our windows and we love them!)

While the 🌈 rainbows are gone for now, don't worry... Rachel Ruland Designs will be bringing her magic back very soon!

Hey friends! I've had two different people reach out to me about their loofah grows this week, so here's a repost video of how I peel my loofahs. 😘

🌱 No, I do *not* dry them! I think they are easier to peel when they are green. I'll pick them, let them sit a day or two, and then process.

Let's be honest, it's more like I wait until we get a frost warning, pick every viable loofah, throw them on a shelf until my day off, and then process them. Friends, if you've taken this class (or any class with me), you know how I roll. 😂

If you want to grow your own loofahs with me next year, the class will be on February 20th. 😏

Whew, friends. It has been a busy month already. Are y'all alive out there?

I have been absolutely swamped 😓 and I know I have been quiet on sharing here, so quick updates:

🎄 We are looking for vendor applications for our holiday market, so if you know any vendor businesses, please tell them about A Merry Little Market at Mineral Springs Soap! We will be in touch with applicants as soon as we get through hiring...

🥼 As usual when we open job applications, we are *swimming* in applicants. We appreciate the interest so much and are slowly going through them, but please know that while we absolutely wish we could hire everyone, we're not there yet and only have one position open right now.

🏳️‍🌈 We're getting started with PrideFest planning with SchoCo Pride Inc. so if you want to be involved, come to the upcoming 🌈 SchoCo PrideFest 2027 Planning Meeting.

📸 Enjoy this beautiful monarch girlie resting in our pasture for a moment of peace this week. ❤️

09/05/2026

A Merry Little Market at Mineral Springs Soap is scheduled for three Saturdays this November and December, and we're looking for local small businesses to join us and take advantage of our retail holiday shopping foot traffic.

09/04/2026

We're hiring! 🧼✨ We're looking for another Production & Retail Assistant to join our small but mighty team here on Main Street... someone who takes pride in a clean space, doesn't mind getting their hands dirty (literally), and wants to be part of a workplace that actually has their back.

This role is the backbone of how we keep things running... dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and general behind-the-scenes upkeep of our shop and production space. You'll also get some cross-training in retail and production along the way, because around here, everyone wears a few hats.

What we're offering:
🧼 $18/hour to start
🧼 Paid time off + holiday pay, even for part-time
🧼 401k with company match
🧼 15% product discount
🧼 A genuinely inclusive, community-rooted workplace

We need someone available Saturdays, 10 am–6 pm or 12 pm–8 pm with room to grow into more hours down the line.

If you're reliable, detail-oriented, and looking for a team that's invested in your growth as much as our own, we'd love to hear from you.
