Algie's Vintage Birdhouses

Algie's Vintage Birdhouses My birdhouses are made from lumber and tin from a farm house that was over 100 years old. The farm house was located in Bleckley County, Georgia.

My parents were living in the farm house when I was born. (I want share with you when that occurred.) The house became the "catch all" for the family farming business after my parents built our new house across the road. Like all things in life, time began to take it's toll on the house. My mother wanted the house taken down before the next really big storm did the job for us. As I began to disman

tle the house, I found I was having trouble discarding the lumber, the tin from the roof, and the many trinkets that had been "stored" in the house over time. So, I save all of this material without a true purpose in mind. After my retirement from education, I developed an interest in unique birdhouses. I decided to put all of the materials I had lovingly saved from the farm house to good use. I began to make birdhouses to use gifts for family and friends. However, as people saw them, I began to receive calls from individuals regarding purchasing a birdhouse for their parents and/or friends. Algie's Vintage Birdhouses was born! Each birdhouse has it's own special character. No two birdhouses are ever the same. So, I can truely say they are a one-of-a-kind purchase. Maybe even "couture" birdhouses. I have since started making birdhouse from unique and special items such as pots and pans, old tins, and unique farm items. I also take items individuals have and do customs birdhouses. I can think of no better way to display and enjoy items that belonged to a special loved one. I do several arts and craft shows during the spring and fall. Please take a moment and look and my show schedule or call me for a special visit to the birdhouse vault.

Good Evening! The strongest and kindest man I have ever known is once again with his beloved mother, father, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, Buddy, and tightly held friends that have gone ahead of us. Algie left us late this afternoon after fighting steadily since June 2nd. He was exhausted. He was ready to go. Please know all the uplifting texts, phone calls, and visits meant so much to him. His love of his family, friends, and complete strangers were always in his actions and words. He always saw the good in everyone.

We take pleasure in knowing that once he arrived in heaven this afternoon, the streets of gold had an extra spit shine applied to them. He will be onto any weeds in heaven shortly.

The arrangements are incomplete at this time. I will post them when we have completed them. Please allow us privacy as we make the arrangements and adjust to a giant void in our lives.

Marcia, Chris, family members, Close friends, Sterling and Simon.
