- When you buy a Christmas Tree from a big box store (Lowes, Home Depot) trees are cut for these stores months in advance and are either floated in water or put in large freezers for preservation. Our Trees were fresh cut in the last week of N
ovember. When you buy a tree from us, we guarantee a longer lasting tree that will retain it’s needles and keep a strong fragrance when compared to a tree bought from a big retailer.
- When Tree Lots buy Christmas Trees from a tree farmer, there are three different grades of trees to choose from. Premium Grade offers a Heavy density, Grade One offers a Heavy-Medium density, and Grade Two offers a Medium-Light density. Here at J & K Christmas Trees we spent the extra money to get Premium Grade trees to keep all of our customers happy and satisfied. Tips for Home to Keep Your Tree as Fresh as Possible
- If we did not fresh cut your tree, make sure the tree is fresh cut. When trees are cut, pitch oozes out and seals the pores. By sawing off the base, you will open up the pores, and the tree will be able to absorb water.
- Water, Water, Water. Water is the key, make sure your tree has water when you bring it home. If you do not put the tree in a stand right away, make sure you at least put the trunk in a bucket of water. Fresh cut trees can consume up to one gallon of water in 24 hours. When you put your tree in a stand make sure the water never gets below the base of the tree.
- Try to keep your Christmas tree away from sources of heat, heat sources can cause the tree to dry out. The Lower the temperature of the tree the better it will do.
- Some people add aspirin or sugar to the water, we can't say whether either helps. Again, water is the vital element
