Do you need an excuse to make your kids clean their rooms? 😉

Tell them they can help out other kids while they’re at it!

Believe it or not, we’re only 88 days away from Christmas! 🎅 And Thriftin’ On Third would LOVE to have your outgrown, gently used toys.

As Christmas gets closer, lots of parents and grandparents will be shopping here for affordable gifts—and when everything seems to cost more these days, every dollar saved matters. ❤️

So if your toy boxes are overflowing, this is the perfect time for a clean-out! Have the kids pick out the toys they’ve outgrown or don’t play with anymore, and remind them that something they’re finished loving might make another kid VERY happy on Christmas morning. 🥰

We’d especially love clean, complete toys in good working condition.

Thank you for helping us keep good toys out of the dumpster and put them into the hands of another kid instead! 🎁

I should always think twice before throwing something away! Why? Glad you asked….

I don’t normally keep cassette tapes. They’re obsolete. Nobody wants cassette tapes anymore, right?

Well, the other day I happened to get a Willie Nelson cassette and, for absolutely no good reason, I tossed it in the 50¢ box instead of throwing it away.

Fast forward to this morning.

Before I was even open, an older gentleman knocked on the door. I was standing right there and he could see me, so I went ahead and answered.

“I know you’re not open yet, but is there any chance you have a cassette tape?”

😳

Apparently they were on their way to Colorado to test drive a vehicle…and the vehicle has a cassette player. They wanted a tape so they could make sure it worked.

SIR. TODAY IS YOUR LUCKY DAY. 😂

I proudly presented him with my entire cassette tape inventory:

One Willie Nelson cassette.

Then he realized he only had a handful of change or $20 bills, so Willie ultimately sold for approximately 42¢…and one of those coins was a Canadian nickel. 😂😂

So somewhere between here and Colorado, Willie Nelson is currently serving as automotive diagnostic equipment.

And this, folks, is why thrift store owners should reconsider throwing ANYTHING away. Apparently every ridiculous item is just waiting for its person. 🤣
