Taylor county has issued a burn ban on July 1st 2025. This is a normal occurrence but just to be clear it does not impact the sale or use of fireworks. It is still perfectly legal to use fireworks in the county. Under extreme drought and dry conditions they will do a firework ban that prohibits the sale of missiles with fins and rockets with sticks but most fireworks are still legal even with that order. The current burn ban is prohibiting outdoor burning of brush piles and similar activities. That being said it is still illegal to do fireworks in the city limits or on the roadside. We encourage people to follow the instructions for use on all fireworks. We want everyone to have a safe and happy Independence day.
