DC Universe's live-action Lanterns series earned 9.3 million views in its first three days on HBO Max, becoming the biggest debut for a DCU series so far.

That being said, there's only been two DCU shows so far leading up to Lanterns - the animated Creature Commandos series and Season 2 of Peacemaker.

Hayden Christensen is reportedly in the final stages of signing a multi picture deal with Disney and Lucasfilm, with the biggest part of the report claiming a standalone DARTH VADER movie is being developed around his return.

Christensen has already fully reclaimed Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader through OBI-WAN KENOBI and AHSOKA, and he is officially returning again as Anakin in AHSOKA Season 2. He has also repeatedly made it clear that he would love to keep exploring Vader because there are still major parts of the character’s life between REVENGE OF THE SITH and A NEW HOPE that live action has barely touched.

A standalone film could finally dive directly into Vader’s early years serving the Empire, hunting surviving Jedi and becoming the terrifying figure we eventually meet in the original trilogy. Lucasfilm has not formally announced the reported deal or movie yet, so for now this remains a huge rumor rather than an official project.

But if this deal really gets finalized, Hayden Christensen’s STAR WARS comeback would go from an emotional return to something much bigger. After more than 20 years, Darth Vader could finally get a live action movie built entirely around him.

Paramount Pictures recently confirmed that Top Gun 3 is in active development with Tom Cruise attached to return as Maverick.

No release date has been announced.
