I’ve been wanting to try a multilayer hardwood intarsia ornament, and I’m really happy with how this one came together.

I used 1/8” birch, cedar, walnut, and hard maple, all cut on the xTool P3. The design was done in xTool Studio and Atomm, then it was just a matter of getting all those layers to line up.

The different woods ended up giving it so much character! Now to glue it up and apply a finish!

Well… it’s finally here. 👀

The newest addition to the Why Knot Workshop lineup has arrived, and we couldn’t wait to get it out of the box.

We’ve got a lot of ideas for what we want to make with the XTool O1, so now comes the fun part: figuring out what this thing can actually do. 😂

New machine, new materials, new projects, and probably a few experiments that don’t quite go according to plan.

What should we make first?

I just love how the color of the hardwoods pop with a little tung oil! Let me know if it is your favorite part too!

Cardinal hardwood ornament, designed on illustrator and cut on the xtool P3.

From loose wool to finished mushroom 🍄

This one started as a simple 2D needle felting project, building up the shape and color layer by layer until the details started to come together.

I love getting new materials to play with!! These are some lovely hardwood planks and I am excited to get creating with them. First step is getting the right material settings!

All I can say is it is a good thing my cat is cute, because his “help” is not so helpful 🤣😂
