Yesterday’s workshop/concert was amazing!! Great turnout for the workshop with followed by two hours of musical mastery with sets from Rhitom and ! Thanks to all who came out! Many thanks to Rhitom, , , and for introducing us to Rhitom and facilitating this event! Key takeaway - Frets are definitely what’s holding you back. Pull them out immediately 😉 PS Branavan (tabla) and Rhitom (slide guitar) (video #2) had never played together.

It’s that time of year again! Band and orchestra rental season is upon us and we’re here to make renting an instrument quick and painless. In this modern age, the rental takes place “online” .. simply navigate to our “website” (collingswood music.com) and find your way to the rentals page. Once you are there, simply follow the link to our partners at NEMC. You can choose the instrument and pay right there from the comfort of your sofa. We have the instruments in stock so all you have to do is come on over to the shop and pick yours up. We carry all the books and accessories you’ll need.

RIP Mark Volman of Turtles fame AKA the Phlorescent Leech 😢 A founding member of the Turtles, Mr. Volman continued making great music with fellow Turtle Howard Kaylan (Eddie) as Flo & Eddie from 1971-2025. The duo also toured with Zappa and the Mothers of Invention and provided the iconic (yes, actually iconic) backing vocals on the first three 70’s T. Rex albums (T. Rex, The Slider and Electric Warrior) you know, after the name was abbreviated… and did the same on tons of other records through the 70’s and 80’s. After being exploited by managers and record labels as a young musician, Volman also became a fierce advocate for musicians’ rights and fair contracts. One of the all time greats in our estimation.

Yes! Lincoln Ave sounded sweet and mellifluous all weekend for the ! Thanks to our friends and for braving the heat and providing an elevated strolling experience for all! Hope you festival goers enjoyed the music as much as we enjoyed having them on our little corner of the fair. Missed my shot at getting video of Vahe playing on Saturday but I was able to find this sweet photo of him online!
