Today's Diecast Model News....MR Collection's 849 Testarossa models in 1:18 have arrived into stock. Ferrari runs a one-off Michael Schumacher tribute livery at Monza this weekend, and two manufacturers at opposite ends of the market had replicas booked before the cars turned a wheel in first practice. Alongside that: LookSmart has committed to twenty-two Ferrari sports-racers in a single announcement, one of which is listed as the wrong car; ACME's "strictly limited to 402 pieces" turns out to be a house number rather than a considered edition size, which changes how yesterday's GMP figure should be read; and TopSpeed and TSM are now running the 2026 GT3 season as a matched pair in two scales. Reference numbers, prices and delivery windows are given where the manufacturers stated them, and flagged where they did not.

The Monza tribute goes on sale before it races

Ferrari is running a special livery on the SF-26 at the Italian Grand Prix this weekend, 4–6 September. It carries Michael Schumacher's personal logo and the seven stars he wore on his helmet for his seven titles, and it marks thirty years since he joined Ferrari and twenty since his last win for the team, at the 2006 Chinese Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton drive it, in matching race suits.

BBR announced its versions this morning — "seven stars and a tribute to Michael Schumacher: Ferrari's heart beats in Monza GP 2026" — with the dealer sheet going out at the same time. Eight references, no prices published:

Bburago has the same livery booked for the first quarter of 2027, six references: 18-16817MO44 and 18-16817MO16 in 1:18 for Hamilton and Leclerc; 18-36871MO44 and 18-36871MO16 in 1:43 with a showcase and driver figure; and 18-36872MO44 and 18-36872MO16 in 1:43 on their own.

That a tribute livery gets modelled is not news — it always does. What is new is the speed and the spread. BBR is a hand-finished Italian maker whose 1:18 Formula One cars sit at the top of the market; Bburago is where most collectors in this hobby started. Both had the car booked before the weekend's running began, rather than waiting to see whether the race produced a result worth commemorating. If Leclerc or Hamilton wins on Sunday there will be a third wave by Tuesday.

LookSmart announces twenty-two Ferraris

The Spa group is the more unusual of the two, because it is not a selection. It is the 296 GT3 EVO entry from the 2026 24 Hours of Spa, more or less entire, at $155 in 1:43:

Doing a whole field rather than the winner and one hero livery is a bet on a particular kind of collector — the one who buys grids, not cars. It is rarer than it sounds, and it is the reason the entries with no finishing position quoted are in there at all. Two names in the list will do some of the selling on their own: LSRC226 carries Arthur Leclerc, and LSRC232 carries Patrick Dempsey, who is still racing GTs in his sixtieth year.

The Le Mans group is historical, and covers 1965 to 1971. Three 330 P3s ran at Le Mans in 1966: the works SEFAC coupés of Parkes and Scarfiotti at No.20 and Bandini and Guichet at No.21, and the North American Racing Team Spyder of Richie Ginther and Pedro Rodríguez at No.27, which retired with overheating after 151 laps. The first two lines are right. LS18LM040 should read No.27 — which is exactly how LookSmart listed it when this group was first announced in August.

Four of the five TSM cars are 1:43 companions to 1:18 TopSpeeds. Both Schubert M4s appear in both scales in the same month. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 No.69 and the DEX Huracán at Daytona are the 1:43 versions of TS0716 and TS0742, the November cars we listed on 27 August — so the small scale is running roughly a month behind the large one rather than alongside it.

Two things follow. The DEX Huracán is being done twice over, at Daytona in 1:18 and 1:43 and again as the Laguna Seca class winner in 1:18 only — the same car, two results, and no 1:43 of the Laguna Seca race yet. And the scale premium is now measurable on identical subjects: $210 against $101.50 for the same M4, a fraction over 2:1. That is a cleaner number than the hobby usually gets, because it is the same tooling programme, the same month and the same distributor.

GT Spirit books nineteen models for early 2027

Two batch announcements yesterday afternoon, without reference numbers or prices at this stage.

February 2027, eleven models: Porsche 917/20 Pink Pig Le Mans in 1:8; BMW M3 Lightweight in 1:8; RWB Jonsibal in 1:12; and in 1:18, RWB Boonme, Porsche Cayman S Design Edition 1, Brabus Rocket GTC, LB-Works 720S, McLaren SLR Edition, BMW M3 by Khyzyl Saleem, Ford Shelby Super Snake-R and the Aston Martin Valhalla.

March 2027, eight models: Nismo R34 GT-R Z-Tune in 1:8; Porsche 911 2.8 RSR in 1:12; and in 1:18, Porsche 911 (964) Turbo 3.3, Audi RS 3 Competition Limited, Koenigsegg CC850, Dodge Charger R/T, Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC and RUF RGT.

The Valhalla is the line that matters. On 31 August we led on the Aston Martin Valhalla arriving in three scales at once through TSM, Mini GT and TopSpeed. GT Spirit makes a fourth manufacturer on the same car inside a week, and the second in 1:18. Separately, GT Spirit posted the first pictures of its Aston Martin Valiant in 1:18 this morning, in Zenith White — the car it teased on 2 September. Still no reference number or price for that one.

WERK83: a fourth Sharknose

W1807908 — Ferrari 156 Sharknose No.38, third at the Monaco Grand Prix 1961, Phil Hill. That is the fourth 156 announced inside a week, after the von Trips British Grand Prix winner, the von Trips French Grand Prix car and Richie Ginther's Belgian Grand Prix third place. Hill took the 1961 title; the Sharknose is now plainly a programme rather than a single car, and the obvious remaining subject is the Monza race that decided that championship, which for understandable reasons nobody has announced.

The GMP revival stopped being an announcement today and started being the products with the LTD ED numbers. Alongside that: the run of 1:18 Lincolns reached four in four days, and the newest one is an Elvis Presley car; WERK83 has booked Steve McQueen's Sebring Porsche for 18 September; and MR Collection has announced an Aventador SVJ limited to five pieces, which is the smallest edition to appear in these pages. Reference numbers, prices and delivery windows are given where the manufacturers stated them, and flagged where they did not.

GMP: 402 pieces of the RHINO Camaro, orders close 10 September

G1800328, the 1:18 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Street Fighter "RHINO", is back on the schedule with the GMP tools going into production. MSRP is $164.95, delivery is quoted for the first quarter of 2027, and estimated production is 402 pieces — with orders closing on 10 September.

That edition figure is the news. When Acme confirmed on 27 August that the GMP tooling was back in its main factory and under test, the first car out was the Mutant Bee Super Bee at $189.95, built to order with no cap stated. The RHINO is the second car, and it is the first to carry a hard number. A 402-piece run with a nine-day order window is a build-to-order model in everything but name: what gets ordered is what gets made.

The specification is at the top of what GMP's Street Fighter line does — carbon fibre bonnet, bumpers and rear spoiler, forged wheels on race tyres, a built LS3 Corvette engine with tube headers and race exhaust, and a full race interior with roll cage, bucket seats and five-point harnesses. For anyone who has been waiting to see whether the revived tooling would produce the detailed cars the old GMP was known for rather than a simplified version, this is the first real evidence either way.

A fourth 1:18 Lincoln in four days — and this one is Elvis

We led yesterday on three 1:18 Lincolns announced by three companies in three days. Sun Star has now added a fourth: SS-4715F, the 1958 Lincoln Continental MkIII open convertible in Elvis Presley livery, at $224.95 with delivery quoted for the fourth quarter of 2026.

That makes 1956, 1958, 1963 and 1989 — four Lincolns, four different decades, from three manufacturers, all inside a week, at a scale that went years without a single new Lincoln tool. A licensed celebrity car is a different proposition again: it is priced $75 above the standard Premiere and it will sell to people who want the association rather than the car.

The same announcement puts US pricing and colours on two cars we covered yesterday without either:

The McQueen car is the one people will chase. He took part in that Sebring with a cast on his left leg, having broken his foot in a motorcycle race at Lake Elsinore a few weeks earlier, and the #48 Porsche finished second overall — 23.8 seconds behind Mario Andretti's Ferrari 512S. Worth knowing before the legend runs away with it: Revson did the overwhelming share of the driving, something over eight hours of the twelve, and by Andretti's own account McQueen drove the minimum. It is still a remarkable result, and it is a car with a story attached, which is presumably why WERK83 has tooled it. WERK83 has also now announced three Sharknoses in four days, counting the von Trips British Grand Prix winner from Monday, so that is a programme rather than a single car.

MR Collection: an Aventador SVJ limited to five

LAMBO034AT7, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ in Nero Aldebaran, limited to five pieces. Five. For context, the smallest editions covered in these roundups over the past fortnight have run to 40 pieces, and 999 was considered tight. No price or delivery window was published, which at that quantity is its own answer.

Looksmart, announced alongside it, has LS566C — the Ferrari 849 Testarossa Spider in Grigio Competizione with the Assetto Fiorano package, in 1:43. No edition size or delivery date given.

The Antonelli is the interesting one. A current-season Grand Prix win in 1:64 at €31.50, packaged with a pitboard, is Minichamps working a scale it has historically left to others — and pricing it against the 1:43 rather than the 1:18. Four Rossi helmets in two weeks also suggests that line is selling.

Spark: the rally slate gets a date, and ten of them run at night

The 24-car 1:43 rally programme we listed on 29 August now has a delivery window — the first quarter of 2027 — and the distribution listings reveal a detail the original announcement did not: ten of the twenty-four are "night version" cars, modelled with the lamp pods lit and the auxiliary lighting fitted.

Those are S3224 (Audi Quattro, Sweden 1982), S2476 (Citroën GS, Monte Carlo 1975), S2614 and S2615 (the two Peugeot 104 ZS), S2618 and S2619 (the two Peugeot 505s), S7753 (Ford RS200, Sweden 1986), S8278 (Fiat 131 Abarth, Monte Carlo 1980), S9022 (Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Sanremo) and S9458 (Es**rt RS1800, Tour de Corse 1977). If you were choosing between references on livery alone, that changes the calculation.

Some model news for today, Sun Star has booked a 1956 Lincoln Premiere Cabriolet for the fourth quarter, which makes three different 1:18 Lincolns announced by three different companies inside three days. Beyond that: a second Subaru Impreza 555 from Sun Star, two endurance Porsches from IXO dated for 11 September, a firm delivery window on Mini GT's pre-orders — and a correction to run on yesterday's Ford GT40 entry.

Three 1:18 Lincolns in three days

On Monday GLM announced the 1989 Town Car Signature Series. The same day KK-Scale announced the 1963 Continental Sedan. Sun Star has now added the 1956 Lincoln Premiere Cabriolet, reference 04658, quoted for the fourth quarter of 2026 and modelled with the hard top closed.

Three companies, three decades — 1956, 1963, 1989 — and all at 1:18, from a marque that went years without a single new tool at this scale. Add KK-Scale's Continental convertibles already shipping and there are now more 1:18 Lincolns in the diary for this autumn than most collectors have had to choose from in a decade. Whether that is three firms reading the same demand signal or a coincidence of timing, nobody has said. It is worth watching whether the fourth quarter can absorb all of them.

The Impreza is the one to note. Sun Star announced 5603, the Liatti and Alessandrini Sanremo winner, on 31 August as a 999-piece edition; 05602 is a second car off the same tool, this time the Northern Irish pairing of Bertie Fisher and Rory Kennedy winning the Rally of the Lakes in 1994. Two cars in a week means the 555 tool is the start of a series rather than a one-off, which is the useful thing to know if you were treating the Sanremo car as a single chance.

The Audi A8 count is now four references. We reported a pair on 28 August; the D3 programme has doubled since. No edition sizes or prices were published for any of the six.

IXO: two endurance Porsches for 11 September

Both are 1:18 and both are dated for 11 September, the same day as the WERK83 batch covered yesterday. The 2017 Le Mans win is the one worth having — the race Porsche took from fourteenth place and 18 laps down after the leading car broke, and the last of the 919's three straight victories. IXO published no price or edition size.

Ford GT40 is Shelby Collectibles, and there are two of them

Yesterday we ran the 1:18 Ford GT40 Mk IV, chassis J-9, as an ACME announcement. The manufacturer is Shelby Collectibles, and the announcement covers two cars rather than one:

Suggested retail is $79.95 US on both, with delivery quoted for the fourth quarter of 2026. The price and the timing we published were right; the brand and the count were not. At that money these remain the accessible end of the 1:18 market, and the MkII gives the pairing a 1966 car to sit next to the 1967 one.

Mini GT: early Q1 2027, and the drive-side split

The six references that opened for pre-order on 31 August now have a delivery window — early in the first quarter of 2027 — and the reference numbers have resolved into drive-side variants. The Aston Martin Valhalla Podium Green runs as MGT01373-L and MGT01373-R, and the Mercedes-AMG G 63 as MGT01375-L and MGT01375-R. The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, the Cadillac V-Series.R, the Lotus 78 and the Volkswagen ID. Buzz are left-hand drive only. The Valhalla is still the only one flagged as new tooling.

Quick hits
GT Spirit spent this morning teasing an Aston Martin — a close crop of a white car with a substantial rear wing, tagged 1:18, with followers invited to name it. No reference and no date. The company's own January 2027 preview includes an Aston Martin Valiant, which is the obvious guess, but GT Spirit has not confirmed it.
Nothing new in the last 24 hours from BBR, Spark, Tecnomodel, Stamp, ACME, GP Replicas or Minichamps. The GP Replicas Ferrari F1-87/88C greywear sample from 29 August still has had no follow-up.

Today's Model Car News:

GLM and Stamp Models opened a joint pre-sale this morning covering nine references, and not one of them is European: GLM’s 1989 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series in 1:18 in three colours, a 1:43 1956 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible in three variants, and Stamp’s 1:43 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado in three finishes, every one quoted to reach the market on 10 November. KK-Scale announced a second Lincoln inside the same 24 hours — the 1963 Continental Sedan, in liveries lifted from two films, with a matching figure. Around that: AUTOart added the Aston Martin Vantage in two colours, Minichamps moved its Verstappen RB22 hand sample up to 1:18 and published its week 35 releases, WERK83 dated five new references for 11 September, and ACME published an actual price. Reference numbers, colours and delivery windows are given where the manufacturers stated them, and flagged where they did not.

GLM and Stamp open a nine-reference pre-sale, all of it American
The announcement went out on 1 September and covers both marques as a single programme, which is itself worth noting — GLM and Stamp Models are being announced together rather than separately. Every reference carries the same estimated on-market date, 10 November 2026. No prices, edition sizes or materials were published with the sheet.

This is the outlier in GLM’s own catalogue. The company still describes itself as a professional 1:43 resin manufacturer, and a 1:18 American full-size sedan is a long way from that brief. The three finishes are period-correct Lincoln choices rather than invented colours, which suggests the tooling is aimed at collectors who know the car rather than at a general audience. GLM had already teased the model on its own page on 31 August without references or colours; this morning’s sheet supplies both.

Two of the three are the same colour in two different body states, so the tooling carries both a raised and a stowed top — an unusual amount of investment for a 1:43 subject, and a decision that tends to signal confidence in the licence. The 1956 New Yorker convertible is a car almost nobody has tooled at this scale, which is the point: this is the sort of gap GLM has built its catalogue on.

Either a fourth colour is being held back or the number has been retired — Stamp did not say. The 1967 Fleetwood Eldorado is the first front-wheel-drive Cadillac and a landmark car, so it is a defensible choice for a maker that has been working its way through the marque.
One caution: the material was not stated. Stamp’s catalogue to date is handmade resin, and the die-cast 1959 Eldorado Biarritz the company announced last week is still without published specifications. Do not assume the Fleetwood is die-cast just because the Biarritz will be.

KK-Scale puts the 1963 Lincoln Continental into film liveries
Announced this morning on KK-Scale’s own page and picked up by DiecastSociety the same day: the 1963 Lincoln Continental Sedan in 1:18, in three finishes, two of which are named after films rather than after paint charts.

Selling the figure as its own reference rather than boxing it with the car is the interesting commercial decision here, and it is a pattern worth watching — a film-specific accessory that only makes sense alongside one particular model.

Two cautions. On timing, three sources give three answers: KK-Scale’s own post says available at the end of September, the distribution listings say within the third quarter of 2026, and DiecastSociety’s write-up says October. Treat the date as unsettled. On references, KK-Scale’s August delivery batch also contained a Lincoln Continental on a different number range entirely, so check the reference on the box before ordering — these are not the same release.

1:18 and larger
AUTOart: Aston Martin Vantage 2019 in two colours
Announced this morning: 70277 in Hyper Red and 70279 in Lime Essence, the 2019 Aston Martin Vantage in 1:18. No price, material or delivery month was stated. AUTOart did not say what 70278 is — the gap between the two published references is conspicuous, and a third colour would be the obvious explanation, but the company has not confirmed one.

Minichamps: the RB22 hand sample moves up to 1:18
117260103, the Red Bull RB22 as run by Max Verstappen at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, now in 1:18 — a follow-up to the 1:43 hand sample (417260103) we covered yesterday. Minichamps says pre-orders are open. As with the smaller car, a hand sample is pre-production, so decoration and finish can still change before delivery.

Minichamps: the week 35 releases
Minichamps’ calendar week 35 list went out on 31 August. The headline piece is a 24 Hours winner in die-cast, which is increasingly rare in a segment that has drifted almost entirely to sealed resin.

The Norris car selling out at the factory before it reaches shops is the practical detail in that list. If you want the winning MCL39, the secondary market is now the route.

The “dirty version” F300 is the one to note — a race-worn finish rather than a showroom one, which WERK83 has been doing more of. A companion reference for the same car depicting the 1998 Spa collision with David Coulthard is in the same batch as a re-stock rather than a new item. Alongside the five new references, WERK83 has a substantial re-stock wave dated for the same day, mostly 1:18 Porsche, including two 1:12 956Bs.

ACME: 1967 Ford GT40 Mk IV, chassis J-9
1:18, car #9, with a stated MSRP of $79.95 and an ETA of the fourth quarter of 2026. That makes it the only item covered today with a published price. The car itself is the J-9 chassis, built with a view to running the 1968 Le Mans race and then made redundant when the organisers capped engines at five litres for 1968 — which pushed Ford onto the 4.9-litre Windsor and, as it turned out, to wins in 1968 and 1969.

MR Collection: Ferrari 849 Testarossa in Bianco Italia
FE047B, 1:18, listed as available now rather than as a pre-order — the freshest item on the board today. MR Collection’s line is hand-made resin as a house standard. No price or edition size was published.

1:43 and smaller
IXO: Neuville’s Rally Sweden Hyundai
A 1:43 Hyundai i20 N Rally1 in the hands of Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe at Rally Sweden — seventh overall, rescued by a Power Stage win and five bonus points. IXO published no reference number, price or delivery window with the announcement.
