For the past two years, so many people have poured their time, energy, and hearts into creating a Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for Old Colorado City.
This wasn't something that happened overnight. It took countless meetings, conversations, and City Council approval just to get it on the ballot—and then our community voted YES.
Now, that vote is at risk.
Our own city council woman Brandy Williams wants it dissolved.
On Tuesday, dozens of Old Colorado City business owners, employees, residents, and supporters showed up to speak in favor of preserving the DDA. We were incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support, but we came up just one vote short.
We have one final opportunity on September 8.
This isn't just about one organization. It's about investing in the long-term health of Old Colorado City—having proper funding, keeping our streets welcoming, supporting small businesses, creating a sustainable future, and preserving the unique character that makes this district so special.
