Meeker Music is a family owned and operated music store established in January 1975, catering to the needs of the music student of any age. We are a full line store, except pianos and organs, offering great deals on rent to own and layaway of band and orchestral instruments, as well as drumsets, guitars, and electronic instruments. We also carry a wide variety of Orff and KinderMusic items, accessories for all instruments, repairs on most anything and of course one of the biggest selections of sheet music in Colorado Springs.

Back-to-school season is here, and we’re making it even easier to get everything you need!

Starting today, we’re extending our store hours by 2 extra hours every day to help with all your back-to-school shopping. Whether you’re renting an instrument, picking up supplies, or have questions, we’re here for you.

After visiting the summit of Pikes Peak in 1893, Katharine Lee Bates was inspired to write the poem that became “America the Beautiful.” The breathtaking views from our own backyard helped create a song that has been cherished for generations.

From the world-famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre to school band rooms, concert halls, and music stores across the state, music continues to be part of Colorado’s story.

Here’s to 150 years of beautiful landscapes, unforgettable melodies, and the musicians who keep Colorado’s soundtrack playing. Happy Birthday, Colorado! ❤️🤍💙🎵

There are SO many fascinating instruments out there that don’t get nearly as much attention as the piano, guitar, or trumpet. Today is the perfect excuse to discover something a little… uncommon!

Ever wonder what happens before a brand-new instrument is ready for you to take home?

It’s a lot more than just opening a box!

Every new instrument that arrives at our store goes through a detailed process before it’s ever available to rent or purchase. Many instruments arrive in multiple layers of packaging, so the first step is carefully unpacking everything.

From there, we:
🎵 Inspect the instrument from top to bottom
🎵 Verify the serial number
🎵 Complete the initial setup
🎵 Tune it
🎵Apply fingerboard tapes for strings
🎵 Create inventory tags and enter it into our system

Only after all of that is finished is it ready to be stored until its new musician comes to take it home!

We repeat this process for every instrument that comes through our doors because we want every customer to have the best possible experience—without any surprises. Quality and attention to detail are important to us, and we’re proud to do the extra work behind the scenes to make sure your instrument is ready to play from day one.
