I MEAN, YOU BE YOU, BUT...

There’s an easier way to find out if your tree needs water.

Grab a long screwdriver and push it into the soil about 1–2 feet from the trunk. If it slides easily at least 6 inches down, there’s probably still plenty of moisture. If it’s tough to push in, it’s time to water.

Too little water = bad. Too much water = also bad. So don’t guess—check the soil first.

And keep your head above ground.

Newly planted trees sometimes shed leaves early as they adjust to their new home. It's part of transplant shock—dropping leaves reduces the tree's demand for water and energy while its roots get established.

Keep watering consistently and give your new tree some time to settle in!
